Synergia Medical SA is a Belgian neurotechnology company developing optoelectronic implantable stimulation systems for drug-resistant epilepsy. Its active legal entity, enterprise number 0540.563.776, was registered on September 26, 2013. Its current website describes operations beginning in 2015; legal incorporation and operating activity are distinguished. Pascal Doguet and Attila Borbáth are its co-founders. The company is based in Mont-Saint-Guibert and is unrelated to the cancer-device business SynergyMed or similarly named healthcare providers. Its NAO.VNS platform, formerly NAOS, converts optical energy into electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve. Optical fibres, photovoltaic cells, quartz packaging and rechargeable power are designed to reduce electromagnetic interference and improve access to MRI and functional MRI. These features establish its relevance to neuroscience, optoelectronics and deep technology; a core AI capability is not asserted without evidence. The company announced Belgian authorization for its first-in-human AURORA study in April 2024. This permitted clinical research and did not establish commercial approval. The official ClinicalTrials.gov record NCT06340802, last posted September 1, 2026, lists five participants and actual study completion on August 12, 2026. Synergia's February 2025 announcement reported its early safety endpoint and plans for pivotal trials. These sources do not establish FDA commercial clearance, CE market authorization, completed pivotal efficacy trials or a generally proven seizure cure. Charles Nolet became CEO on February 1, 2025, succeeding Attila Borbáth, who remains a director. The profile includes the published management, board and medical-adviser roster, additional clearly identified registry directors and Doguet's separately qualified founding affiliation. The current registry also names a corporate-director representative Christine Franssen. That corporate director is Sparaxis SA, not Wallonie Entreprendre or SRIW; an identity bridge to the separately published Christina Franssen is unconfirmed and no duplicate or assumed alias is created. Completed equity financing comprises an EUR 8.1 million Series A announced February 19, 2018, an EUR 9 million Series B announced September 12, 2022 and an additional EUR 3.8 million Series B closing announced January 18, 2023. The resulting EUR 12.8 million Series B total is an aggregate, not another raise. Newton Biocapital led the Series A; the federal SFPIM, SRIW and Financière Spin-off Luxembourgeoise participated. The 2022 financing also names Investsud and TheClubDeal. The 2023 extension identifies Invest BW, private investors through TheClubDeal and the Berrebi family, while describing the earlier institutional buyers as historical shareholders; fresh follow-on checks are not inferred from that list. EU grants are recorded separately from equity. NAOS project 875931 has an EUR 50,000 contribution contracted in July 2019. NAO.VNS project 190198268 has an exact EUR 2,499,000 contribution contracted in February 2023, corresponding to the rounded EUR 2.5 million award announced in October 2022. Neither grant represents an assertion that all funds were immediately disbursed. The potential EUR 7.5 million EIC equity investment, a later EUR 17.5 million fundraising target and an aggregate EUR 16.8 million Series A figure do not independently prove additional completed financing events. Individual tickets, unspecified family subscription vehicles and outgoing corporate venture investments remain unasserted.
