MP Healthcare Venture Management

Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

MP Healthcare Venture Management, Inc. (MPH) is a corporate life-science venture investor established in August 2006, with its current parent-group directory locating it at 245 Main Street, second floor, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Boston label and former Arch Street address in older announcements are historical. It backs seed and early-stage companies developing innovative therapeutics and platform technologies across North America, Europe and Japan, with particular interest in neurodegeneration, immunology, oncology and rare diseases. It is part of the Tanabe Pharma group, historically known as Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma: the parent’s June 2023 disclosure specifically identified MPH as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, itself wholly owned by the Japanese parent. The pharmaceutical parent moved under Bain Capital-advised ownership on July 1, 2025 and changed its name to Tanabe Pharma Corporation on December 1, 2025. Current Tanabe primary materials continue to list MPH as its investment subsidiary. Older descriptions of joint Mitsubishi Chemical ownership must therefore be read in their historical context. MPH is a legally distinct venture subsidiary; the parent’s investments and commercial pharmaceutical collaborations are not automatically MPH checks. Primary QurAlis announcements name MPH in its 2018 seed financing, 2020 USD42 million Series A and 2023 USD88 million Series B, supporting its direct neuroscience relevance. Its other documented investment history includes RNA technologies, novel protein degradation and computational or biomarker approaches to drug discovery. This technology focus does not establish approvals or clinical efficacy of portfolio products. Published team records require careful date qualification: Jeffrey Moore had moved to Oxford Science Enterprises by September 2026, Shota Ozawa’s own chronology records the end of his MPH Directorship in June 2026, and Laura Tadvalkar, Naoya Sato, Tetsuro Iwata and Takahiro Mukohira have primary-supported historical roles. AMED’s registered-VC directory still names Moore and Ozawa as contacts; those contact records are not treated as evidence that their former operating titles remain current. The full current operating roster and Moore’s successor are not independently established. Parent capital allocations, investment reserves and government ecosystem-support eligibility are not external LP fund closes; no independent fund close is asserted.
