Droia Ventures

Zaventem, Belgium · Luxembourg, Luxembourg · Leuven, Belgium

Droia Ventures is a specialist biotechnology investment and company-building group focused on therapeutics for oncology and genetic diseases. It invests globally in young drug developers and uses in-house biology, translational research and clinical-development experience to help companies progress toward clinical proof of concept. Its public legal/contact footer distinguishes Droia SA in Luxembourg, the Belgian Droia Ventures office in Zaventem, and Metaptys NV / Droia Labs in Leuven. Droia Labs is the group’s scientific validation arm rather than a separately attributed financing buyer. Current own portfolio exposure includes ALS precision medicines at QurAlis, neurodegeneration at Muna Therapeutics, rare genetic neurodevelopmental conditions at Mahzi, neuroinflammation at Montis and neuroscience-related kinase programmes at Alesta. These are development mandates rather than proven clinical outcomes. The public directory lists33 investment, operating, laboratory and advisory people with their functions explicitly scoped. Its own final-close announcements verify EUR150M for the second oncology fund in December2018 and EUR220M for Droia Genetic Disease, the third fund, in May2021. Droia I is established by the second-fund announcement but its cash size and exact close date are undisclosed. The older Droia Oncology Ventures / droiagroup.com brand is linked by the group’s own fund history; separate managed funds retain their identities. AUM figures are not additional fundraise events. Founding-year sources differ (company socialprofile2011 versus regionalagency2014), so a single legal-founding year is not asserted.
