Mitsui & Co. Global Investment, Inc. (MGI) is the venture-investment subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., investing in technology and life-sciences companies through its own investment partnerships. Established in 2001 as Mitsui & Co. Venture Partners, Inc., it adopted its current name in 2010. Its public offices include Menlo Park and Tokyo. MGI combines venture investing with the parent’s international industrial network; its portfolio includes healthcare AI, computational biology, ALS and neuropsychiatric drug development, neurological care, quantum-dot devices and industrial technologies. The current public team has 13 named investment, finance, administrative and advisory people. Some published functions explicitly relate to the separate E12 Ventures joint platform. E12 Fund I’s USD105M final commitments are not attributed as a directly managed MGI fund: its general partner is a separately constituted joint venture. Primary SEC filings identify legacy MCVP investment vehicles, whose fund sizes and close dates are undisclosed in the reviewed evidence. The parent company remains a separate investor identity.
