Investment-fund research reviewed 2026-10-06. Publicly identified funds, dates, amounts and fundraising status are below. Undisclosed commitments remain unknown; this is not a complete register of private SPVs or parallel entities.
Fund size and stages
| Vehicle/measure | Verified amount and status | Dated supporting evidence |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Original Seraphim Space Fund | £70m at second close, not a target. This is a historical private fund amount. | [Firm announcement, page 2017-09-15, release dateline 2017-09-14](https://seraphim.vc/news/space-industry-giants-back-the-seraphim-space-fund-launch/ ). |
| Earlier launch of that fund | £50m launched; £80m was the intended final-close target by Q2 2017, not verified closed commitments. | [British Business Bank, 2016-11-21](https://www.british-business-bank.co.uk/news-and-events/news/british-business-bank-partner-seraphim-capital-launches-50m-pioneering-space-tech-fund ). |
| Seraphim Space Ventures II LP / SSV II | First close announced April 2024, amount undisclosed on that announcement. Subsequent February 2026 close exceeded the previous US$100m target. Exact raised amount and explicit final-close status are not disclosed in the release. | [First-close announcement, page 2024-04-19, release 2024-04-22](https://seraphim.vc/news/seraphim-press-release/ ); [latest-known close announcement, 2026-02-25](https://seraphim.vc/news/seraphim-early-stage-venture-fund-latest-close/ ); [trust presentation, March 2026, slide 12 confirms SSV II attribution](https://investors.seraphim.vc/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Q2-FY2025_26-website-presentation-FINAL-1.pdf ). |
| Seraphim Space Investment Trust / SSIT | £150m gross cash proceeds at IPO on 2021-07-14. Separately £28.4m shares were issued for acquisition of initial portfolio holdings. Neither is the size of SSV II. | [Annual report for period ended 2022-06-30, published October 2022, printed pp. 86–87](https://investors.seraphim.vc/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Seraphim-Space-Annual-Report-2022.pdf ). This is historical issuance, not current NAV or a complete later capital-raising history. |
| Group managed assets | Official February 2026 release says over US$550m active funds; current homepage displays US$630m+ group AUM. Different dates/definitions; these are manager totals, not fund commitments. | [2026-02-25 release](https://seraphim.vc/news/seraphim-early-stage-venture-fund-latest-close/ ); [homepage, undated](https://seraphim.vc/ ). |
The current [SSV II strategy](https://seraphim.vc/seraphim-space-ventures-2/ ) explicitly supports Seed and Series A globally. The April 2024 announcement names satellite data/AI, terrestrial-space connectivity, microgravity biotech/materials and orbital computing as themes. The original fund's September 2017 release describes typical Series A investing in IP-led businesses. At group level the accelerator and SSIT extend coverage from pre-incorporation to pre-IPO; historical growth transactions below should not be used to describe every private fund's mandate. No verified current check-size range was found. Newer fund announcements were searched; February 2026 is the latest-known private-fund closing located, not a guarantee that no later close exists.

Imported completed research. Baseline Adex/Signal statements describe prior state, not independent verification. Retain cited attribution, date, currency and classification caveats.
| LambdaVision — microgravity manufacture of protein films for an artificial retina. | Seraphim participated in US$7m Seed on 2025-11-05; co-leads were Seven Seven Six and Aurelia Foundry Fund. SSV II's current portfolio lists the company, strengthening vehicle attribution. | [Company funding release, 2025-11-05](https://www.lambdavision.com/lambdavision-raises-7m-seed-round-to-revolutionize-blindness-treatment-using-space-based-manufacturing/ ); [SSV II portfolio, undated](https://seraphim.vc/seraphim-space-ventures-2/ ). |
## Neurotech evidence and boundaries
**LambdaVision is a verified sensory-restoration neurotechnology investment.** Its protein artificial retina mimics photoreceptor light absorption and is intended to activate remaining retinal neuroreceptors. That supports a direct retinal neural-function restoration classification; it is not merely generic ophthalmic imaging or mental-health software. The 2025-11-05 company release confirms Seraphim's participation in the US$7m Seed. The funding advances preclinical work: it does not establish clinical efficacy, approval or a marketed implant. The company's [2026-09-01 update](https://www.lambdavision.com/lambdavision-advances-space-based-manufacturing-with-its-first-mission-beyond-the-iss/ ) still identifies it as preclinical. Classification is an inference from the described mechanism, not an explicit Seraphim neurotech-sector label. A narrower Adex taxonomy confined to brain recording/stimulation/BCI may require recording this as adjacent retinal prosthesis technology instead. No verified brain-interface or human brain-stimulation investment was found in the sources checked.
**Opteran is neuroscience-inspired computing, not verified human neurotechnology.** Both investor and company sources describe re-engineering insect brain patterns for robot autonomy. This supports deep tech/neuromorphic AI, but not patient neural sensing, BCI or treatment. Keep it separate from LambdaVision and from a claim of a clinical neurotech portfolio.
## Conflicts, gaps and later Adex review
- Keep SSV II closed capital above US$100m as a lower bound; do not store US$100m as an exact final size. Separate £70m original fund, SSIT IPO capital and group AUM. The homepage's US$13.5bn+ raised by portfolio companies is another distinct measure, not manager AUM.
- Resolve 2006 predecessor versus 2016 specialist SpaceTech founding, and prefer official UK headquarters over Signal's San Francisco display when updating location. Team-role currency was not comprehensively verified; Andre appears twice in the snapshot under different titles.
- Snapshot stages are unreliable in places: its 2020 Opteran entry says pre-seed while sources refer to Seed; its US$12m 2022 entry says seed while the company specifically says Seed+. Preserve financing-specific labels.
- Snapshot ICEYE has an undated US$2.8m seed entry. The verified 2017 release is US$1.2m led by Seraphim; do not treat these as the same transaction without further evidence. The snapshot's US$109m Astroscale Series F differs from SSIT's US$112m disclosure; use source/date distinctions pending reconciliation.
- Snapshot has duplicates/aliases for Xona, SatVu/Satellite Vu and PlanetWatchers/Planet Watchers, plus separate Airmo stage labels; this report verifies representative deep-tech investments, not every snapshot round. Do not merge round records solely by company name.
- Nu Quantum's official Seed history explicitly includes conversion; avoid conflating gross financing with only new equity or an approximate sterling press figure.
- Consider LambdaVision for a sourced neurotech review with the retinal-prosthesis taxonomy caveat. Confirm its US$7m as company Seed financing, not Seraphim's individual check. Firm investment is confirmed independently of accelerator membership.
- Current ownership, full exits, every later SSIT capital issuance, individual check sizes and all historical transactions remain outside verified coverage. Accelerator participation alone is not proof of investment. No prior-firm partner investments have been attributed here.

## Identity and assessment
Seraphim is a UK-headquartered specialist SpaceTech investment group spanning private venture funds, a separately listed growth investment trust and an accelerator. The current private venture mandate is Seed and Series A. There is substantial verified deep-tech experience in satellites, quantum networking and biologically inspired robotics. LambdaVision provides a verified investment in investigational retinal sensory restoration technology, with the neurotech classification explained below. This does not establish a general neuroscience or brain-interface investment mandate. [Official site, undated](https://seraphim.vc/ ), [current Ventures II strategy, undated](https://seraphim.vc/seraphim-space-ventures-2/ ).
## Starting evidence: Adex and NFX Signal
The read-only exact-ID snapshot, `data/research/_sources/SeraphimSpace.adex.json`, retrieved 2026-10-06T19:29:40.819Z, describes London SpaceTech investing from early development through IPO and records founding in 2006. It has null check minimum, maximum and sweet spot, 49 investment participation entries, and team entries including Mark Boggett, James Bruegger, Rob Desborough and Andre Ronsoehr. Underlying investment evidence is mostly Goldilocks with linked press articles, missing announcement dates and sometimes uncertain stages. Named leads include ICEYE, LambdaVision, Nu Quantum, Opteran, Astroscale, Xona, Satellite Vu/SatVu, D-Orbit and ATMOS. These are starting claims, not independent verification.
[NFX Signal firm profile](https://signal.nfx.com/firms/seraphim-space ) was directly read. It reports founded 2006 and locations San Francisco, London, France and United Kingdom, with co-investor links. The rendered team section supplied no usable team details or numeric checks/stage allocation. The snapshot's NFX evidence cites the [DeepTech Pre-Seed list](https://signal.nfx.com/investor-lists/top-deeptech-pre-seed-investors ), accessed when originally ingested 2026-09-09; that list inclusion alone is not a current firm mandate. NFX's San Francisco headline location differs from the official UK-headquarters statement. The 2006 date likely reflects predecessor Seraphim Capital, whereas the official 2026 announcement describes Seraphim Space as established in 2016; retain this identity distinction rather than silently overwriting a founding year. [Official announcement, 2026-02-25](https://seraphim.vc/news/seraphim-early-stage-venture-fund-latest-close/ ).
