Genesys Capital
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Genesys Capital is a Toronto-based Canadian venture-capital manager founded in2000 by Damian Lamb and Kelly Holman. It invests in and helps create early-stage life-science companies in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical technology, working with scientific founders, universities and research institutes. The firm’s current website reports more than$400M raised across six early-stage venture funds,44 companies and20 exits; these are aggregate manager statistics rather than a single fund size or independently verified performance ranking. Its relevance to neuroscience and deep technology includes Enspire DBS Therapy’s investigational neuromodulation for chronic stroke, Functional Neuromodulation’s work on cognitive and memory disorders, EBT Medical’s peripheral nerve stimulation, and Adapsyn Bioscience’s use of artificial intelligence and genomic/metabolomic data for natural-product drug discovery. Other named portfolio companies work on intracellular drug delivery, MRI-guided ultrasound ablation, wearable blood-flow sensing, genomic interpretation, cryopreservation and drug development. Current public staff include managing directors Damian Lamb, Kelly Holman and Jamie Stiff, partner and CFO Jennifer Williams, finance executive Lisa Low, principal Sarah Farr, associates Stephanie Legere and Laurie Mak, and office manager Christine Thoburn. A January2022 Maxime Ranger venture-partner appointment is retained with historical qualification because he is absent from the current staff panel; the planned transition to general partner is not assumed completed. Institutional limited-partner records confirm Genesys Ventures II and a final CAD107M size for Genesys Ventures III. Its June2025 Fund IV announcement described an upcoming closing without disclosing the fund amount or proving that exact day was the final close. The separate Genesys University Seed Fund announced in July2026 had already held a first close with more than CAD30M of commitments, while accepting additional commitments toward a CAD40M target. Those limits are distinct from exact final fund size. The firm is an actual co-lead of Feldan Therapeutics’ completed USD21M Series B announced4September2024. Historical exits and divestments in the website’s past-success panel are distinguished from continuing holdings.
