Sequoia Capital is a venture capital firm founded in 1972 by Don Valentine. Its present US and Europe business partners with technology founders from seed through growth and public-market expansion, with current portfolio interests including AI research and applications, developer infrastructure, cybersecurity, computing and healthcare technology. Its published team spans seed and early-stage investing, growth investing and operating specialists in talent, design, finance, technology, data and communications. Its US/Europe Sequoia Capital Fund, announced in October2021, is an open-ended permanent-capital structure that holds public investments and allocates capital to closed-end venture subfunds; its NAV is not a new cash fundraise. Sequoia announced its sixth seed fund and nineteenth venture fund in October2025. Sequoia is distinct from independent former regional businesses HongShan and Peak XV Partners, as well as separate Sequoia Heritage and Global Equities entities. The retained SequoiaCapital database alias represents this same US/Europe firm; its older investment and protected imported records remain separate pending an audited consolidation.
