Professor of AI and robotics at UC Berkeley and an Amazon Scholar. Directs Berkeley's Robot Learning Lab and co-directs the Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research Lab. Co-founded Covariant and Gradescope and is an investment partner at AIX Ventures. His research spans reinforcement learning, imitation learning, robotic control and foundation models, with contributions including TRPO, MAML and hindsight experience replay. Holds a Stanford PhD in computer science. His main expertise is AI and robotics rather than clinical neurology or EEG.
