Monteris Medical

Minnetonka, Minnesota, United States · Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Monteris Medical develops MRI-guided, robotically controlled laser ablation technology for minimally invasive neurosurgery. Its NeuroBlate System combines laser delivery probes, stereotactic positioning, thermal monitoring and planning software to ablate intracranial soft tissue. Surgeons use it for selected brain tumors, radiation necrosis and epileptic foci; the device is a surgical tool rather than a disease-specific drug or guaranteed cure. NeuroBlate received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2013, with subsequent product updates, and is used across North American hospitals. Founded in Winnipeg in 1999, Monteris has its corporate headquarters in Minnetonka, Minnesota and technology operations in Winnipeg. President and CEO Marty Emerson leads seven publicly named executives, with an eight-member board. The company closed $28 million in Series E equity in March 2026, separately refinancing debt through a Trinity Capital credit facility. A 2025 collaboration with Symphony Robotics explores an AI-driven micro-robotic brain-ablation platform; that partnership is not evidence of a completed investment or universal regulatory clearance.
