CU Healthcare Innovation Fund

Aurora, Colorado, United States

Independent strategic healthcare venture capital firm affiliated with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. It invests in campus spinouts and external companies developing digital health, technology-enabled services, medical devices, diagnostics and therapeutics, and supports them through the clinical and research ecosystem of CU Anschutz, UCHealth, Children’s Hospital Colorado and CU Medicine. The university and hospitals are institutional partners and limited partners, rather than interchangeable names for this independent investor. Its portfolio includes AI-driven clinical abstraction and coding automation, precision-health data platforms, psychiatric therapeutics, minimally invasive neurosurgery and brain-science-based learning technology. The public portfolio distinguishes active, exited, partial-exit and IPO companies and identifies investments by Fund I or Fund II. Fund I closed with $50 million in committed capital on July 7, 2020. The current manager website reports over $100 million in assets under management; university biographies describe roughly $110 million across its venture funds. These aggregate figures are not assigned as the close size of Fund II. The current public investment team consists of general partners Kimberly Muller and Steven Lindseth, partner Gali Baler, director of LP relations Kevin Reidy and senior associate Fredrik (Fred) Lindseth. The manager’s precise founding year and Fund II close date and size are not publicly established by the reviewed primary sources.
