Life Sciences at Goldman Sachs Alternatives

Life Sciences at Goldman Sachs Alternatives is the specialist life sciences investing group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s alternatives platform. Established in 2021 and led by Amit Sinha, it invests in private therapeutics companies entering clinical development or in early clinical stages, including neuroscience, precision and genetic medicine, cell therapies, immunotherapy and technologies such as synthetic biology and AI. Its first fund, West Street Life Sciences I, closed in January 2024 with USD650 million in equity commitments. The current strategy page reports more than USD1 billion in aggregate capital raised as of June 2026 and 21 investments as of July 2026; 19 are disclosed and two preclinical companies remain in stealth. These aggregate figures are distinct from the first fund’s size. Verified neuroscience investment Newleos Therapeutics includes the strategy as Series A lead in February 2025. This profile represents the specialist investment team, not a separate corporate entity or all Goldman Sachs businesses.
