GRA Venture Fund
GRA Venture Fund, LLC is a public-private venture capital fund launched by the Georgia Research Alliance in 2009 to invest in research-driven Georgia startups. Its technology and life-science portfolio includes AI healthcare applications, advanced thermal materials, neural-interface devices, neurodegeneration therapeutics and autism diagnostics. The Fund is separate from GRA's venture development program, which provides milestone-based grants and loans to university projects. Its public leadership directory identifies Managing Director Connor Seabrook, Senior Advisors Kurt Jacobus and Michelle Jarrard, Board Chair Frances Gail Rogers, and Directors F. Duane Ackerman, Bill Midgette, Charles Ogburn and David M. Ratcliffe. The Fund's current FAQ states that it is fully invested and is no longer considering new investments. Its historical capital disclosures describe a $7.5 million State of Georgia evergreen investment and $11.8 million from other investors at launch, followed by a second raise of more than $25 million in 2015. GRA was a named participant in BioCircuit Technologies' private financing at its independent launch in 2019 and $9 million Series Seed round in September 2022.
