BioCircuit Technologies
BioCircuit Technologies is an Atlanta medical-device company developing tissue-repair and neuromodulation technologies. Its commercial NerveTape device combines a porcine collagen matrix with precision Nitinol microhooks to connect severed peripheral nerves without microsutures; FDA 510(k) clearances were issued in July 2022 and February 2024. BioCircuit also develops nerve-protection biomaterials and historically pursued bioelectronic spinal-reflex conditioning for neurological rehabilitation. Its own public board directory lists CEO Michelle Jarrard, Board Chair Thomas O'Brien, Glenn H. Epstein, Mike Masters and James Nahirny. BioCircuit launched independently from Axion Biosystems in June 2019, with Jim Ross named as a cofounder. A September 2022 $9 million Series Seed round included Mike Masters, GRA Venture Fund and Alsora Capital. NIH records document research grants for NerveTape, commercialization readiness, spinal-reflex conditioning and lymphovenous anastomosis. Axogen completed its acquisition on October 1, 2026 under an agreement specifying $200 million cash consideration subject to adjustments; the agreement required a separate spin-out of BioCircuit's electronics research business.
