EIT Urban Mobility
Barcelona, Spain
European urban mobility innovation community launched in 2019, with headquarters in Barcelona. EIT Urban Mobility links cities, industry, universities and startups to accelerate sustainable transport through investment, innovation projects, education and market deployment. Its governance combines the nonprofit EIT Urban Mobility Association, sole shareholder of the operational EIT KIC Urban Mobility S.L.U. company, with regional innovation hubs and an educational foundation. The initiative is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, an EU body, and operates an Impact Ventures equity-investment programme alongside separate grants and equity-free accelerators. Its early-stage portfolio includes AI-driven freight operations, rail autonomy, assistive pedestrian navigation and mobility data systems. The current leadership directory names 18 management, regional and corporate leaders and seven supervisory board members. Marc Rozendal has been CEO since April 2025; Denise Xifara leads Impact Ventures. EU programme allocations and planned investment budgets are not completed venture fund closings.
