BEVC

BEVC is a Berkeley venture capital firm founded in 2023 by Rowan Chapman, Widya Mulyasasmita and Risa Stack. It invests in early-stage companies translating scientific discoveries into products across biology and health, artificial intelligence, energy, materials and deep technology. The firm works with founders in the UCSF, UC Berkeley and Bakar innovation ecosystems, combining investment capital with scientific, operating and commercialization support. Its publicly named portfolio includes AI-driven materials discovery, macrocyclic-peptide therapeutics, genetic medicines, critical-metal alternatives, brain-selective drugs and diagnostics. BEVC's operating team works alongside a network of scientific and industry advisers. It participated in Montara Therapeutics' March 2025 seed expansion.
