Unravel Biosciences
Unravel Biosciences is a Boston clinical-stage biotechnology company founded in 2021 from Harvard's Wyss Institute. It uses AI systems biology and patient RNA data to discover drug targets, identify potential treatments and stratify patients with rare and complex diseases. Its BioNAV platform models biological networks and combines computational predictions with experimental screening, including its automated SquishyWare tadpole disease models. The company's Predictable Medicine approach and Living Molecular Twins support drug development, while its rareSHIFT program makes the platform available to patient foundations and biotechnology partners. Its investigational RVL-001 program, a proprietary formulation of vorinostat, entered proof-of-concept studies for Rett syndrome and Pitt Hopkins syndrome in Colombia, with first patient dosing announced in May 2026. Additional programs explore neurological and metabolic diseases. Richard Novak and Frederic Vigneault lead the company as co-founders and CEO and CSO, alongside Chief Medical Officer Neal Muni. RTK Group disclosed participation in seed financing in June 2022, and KdT Ventures lists Unravel in its portfolio.
