University of Vermont Health
Burlington, Vermont, United States · Vermont and northern New York, United States
University of Vermont Health is the current public brand of The University of Vermont Health Network Inc., a not-for-profit, tax-exempt Vermont corporation operating an integrated academic and community health system in Vermont and northern New York. The legal corporate identity is verified by its own audited FY2024 financial statements and IRS Form990, EIN45-2880726. It is affiliated with the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine and College of Nursing and Health Sciences but is distinct from the university, its endowment, UVM Foundation, the medical-center foundation and constituent hospital legal entities. The system provides hospital, specialty, community, home-health and hospice care and supports clinical research and academic medicine. Its current own leadership pages publish executives, partner-hospital presidents, clinical department chairs and22 trustees; these are institutional operating/governance roles, not an investment-fund employee directory. Stephen Leffler became permanent system CEO on January2026 after interim service fromOctober2025, superseding former CEO SunilEappen. The public roster includes neurological-sciences chair PeterCalabresi, psychiatry chair RobertAlthoff, and executives overseeing high-value care and clinical integration. The system has mission-aligned strategic investment activities. Cilcare’s April18,2024 issuer announcement explicitly identifies University of Vermont Health Network as a new shareholder in its auditory-science and biomarker programme. Its December4,2024 financing announcement names UVM Health Capital among historical investors in the latest EUR21million tranche of an aggregate EUR40million SeriesA. The shared health-system ecosystem is supported by the issuer narrative, but the exact legal vehicle behind the December brand is not disclosed; no automatic alias merge or substitution of the parent is made for that financing. The FY2024 accounts distinguish UVM Health Network Ventures Inc., a for-profit investment holding company, from Health Network Ventures Holding LLC, a separate501(c)(3) investment holding entity. They are not equated with one another or with the parent. A primary2019 BioFactura release confirms an actual investment by the network’s ventures arm and names ChrisJones as Director of Venture Investments. The 2023tax return names then-officers SunilEappen and RichardVincent in venture-subsidiary governance; those disclosures are historically dated. Regulatory assets, operating revenues, restricted funds, venture-holding asset values, budgets and foundation donations are not private-LP fund closes or individual issuer tickets. No invented venture vehicle, current branch team, cash amount or parent/subsidiary duplicate investment is added.
