Tau Ventures (US)
Palo Alto, California, United States · New York, New York, United States · San Francisco, California, United States
Tau Ventures is a US venture capital firm founded in late 2019 by Amit Garg and Sanjay Rao, investing in early-stage companies applying artificial intelligence to healthcare, enterprise software and automation. Based in Palo Alto, with a presence in New York and San Francisco, it primarily backs seed-stage startups and selectively supports later financing. Its published portfolio includes healthcare AI companies Autonomize AI, Assort Health, Alaffia Health and Infinitus, enterprise AI developer Labelbox, and robotics company Chef Robotics. The team combines operating, software, biomedical-informatics and investment experience; venture partners and an advisory partner are distinguished from core investment staff, and investor alumni are identified as historical affiliations. Its broad external advisor directory represents a separate professional network. The manager’s January 2026 newsletter reported more than USD93 million in assets under management across its earlier fund and SPV platform; this is not a single fund closing amount. An August 2026 newsletter confirms the first close of Tau Ventures Fund III, without disclosing its size or exact closing day. The US firm at tauventures.com is separate from Tel Aviv’s TAU Ventures at tauventures.co.il, whose existing record is preserved. The manager’s exact legal identity is Tau Ventures, LLC (US SEC exempt reporting adviser CRD306230); it is not a registered investment adviser. Official fund disclosures and direct founder testimony identify a USD17 million fully raised Fund I, a USD26.3 million Opportunity Fund I and a USD40.5 million closed Fund II. Exact closing days are undisclosed. Separately identified legal vehicles include Tau Ventures SPV DCAP, LLC and the Fund III main and QP partnerships. Current gross asset values, planned closes and platform AUM are not substituted for fund closing capital.
