Seoul-based corporate holding company of South Korea’s SK Group, managing investment assets, subsidiary value creation and portfolio restructuring alongside its AX business. SK Inc. identifies AI and machine learning, digital infrastructure, semiconductor and battery materials, energy solutions and biotechnology as relevant portfolio areas. It is a corporate strategic investor rather than a standalone venture-capital fund. Its parent-level biotechnology investments include VantAI, now Proxima Bio: Roivant’s primary filing confirms SK Inc. paid $6 million for preferred shares in July 2023, and SK Inc.’s separate 2023 financial statements identify a 40% preferred-voting ownership interest at that time. Its current published board comprises five independent directors and three executive directors, including Chairman and CEO Tae-Won Chey and CEO and Representative Director Yong-Ho Jang. SK Group is the wider brand and corporate group; SK Telecom, SK Hynix, SK Biopharmaceuticals and other operating affiliates are separate companies.
