Laurion Capital Management
Laurion Capital Management is a New York investment firm founded in September 2005 by Ben Smith and Sheehan Maduraperuma, former JPMorgan equity derivatives and proprietary trading colleagues. It combines quantitative and qualitative research across asset classes. Zhe (Jerry) Zhou became a partner in 2017 and leads its biotechnology investment strategies, bringing a background in biological sciences, biochemistry and molecular pharmacology. Its verified investments include Recursion's AI-enabled drug discovery platform, Exscientia's AI drug design, Scipher Medicine's precision immunology, Synthego's genome-engineering tools, TRexBio's computational immunobiology and Compass Pathways' mental-health therapeutics. These investments establish relevance to AI, deep technology and neuroscience, alongside the firm's broader capital-markets activities. Its public leadership directory names three partners; it does not publish a complete employee roster or venture-style portfolio catalogue.
