Integra Therapeutics
Barcelona biotechnology company developing gene-writing tools for advanced cell and gene therapies. Its FiCAT platform combines CRISPR-Cas targeting with an engineered piggyBac transposase to insert small or large genetic payloads with precise, stable genome integration. Founded as a Pompeu Fabra University spin-out by Marc Güell and Avencia Sánchez-Mejías, Integra is developing the platform for preclinical CAR-T therapies and other cell-engineering applications, alongside a gene therapy for a rare paediatric liver disease. Its work includes protein engineering and AI-assisted design; these programs remain in development.
