George Church is Harvard’s Robert Winthrop Professor of Genetics and a researcher in genomic reading, writing and synthetic biology. Lila named him chief scientist in its 2025 launch-era statement. He is absent from Lila’s current published leadership roster, so continued company employment is unverified. Existing scientific advisory affiliations are preserved; a company role does not establish a personal investment.
