Inspire Medical Systems
Inspire Medical Systems is a medical technology company developing implantable upper-airway neurostimulation for obstructive sleep apnea. Founded in 2007 as a Medtronic spinout and listed on the New York Stock Exchange as INSP since 2018, Inspire synchronizes stimulation of the hypoglossal nerve with breathing to help keep the airway open during sleep. Its neuroscience and deep technology work combines implantable electronics, nerve stimulation, physiological sensing and clinical device development. Inspire therapy is used in selected patients who cannot benefit from or tolerate positive airway pressure treatment; eligibility depends on clinical assessment and the applicable device labeling. The company's platform includes Inspire therapy and the SleepSync patient-management ecosystem. Founder Tim Herbert serves as Chairman, President and CEO; the current public leadership directory includes CFO Matt Osberg, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Carlton Weatherby and Chief Operations and Innovation Officer Jason Kelly. Osberg's CFO appointment took effect February 17, 2026. Inspire also makes strategic investments in sleep-care technology: it invested $10 million in EnsoData in 2022, provided seed financing to Ognomy, and participated in EnsoData's 2025 Series B. Its implantable therapy and its investments in AI sleep diagnostics are distinct activities.
