HPVC
Potsdam, Germany
HPVC (Hasso Plattner Venture Capital) is the Potsdam-based early-stage software investor formerly branded HPI Ventures, operated by HPI Seed Fund GmbH, Amtsgericht Potsdam HRB 28361. Its current official imprint names Frank Pawlitschek and Jens Schmidt-Sceery as managing directors. Its September 2026 rebrand announcement expressly confirms continuity of the same team, fund and investment thesis. The historical HPI Seed Fund was already investing before the HPI Ventures brand, including the actual February 2023 Memodio financing; the older HPI Ventures about page’s 2024 founding statement is a brand-era claim and is not treated as the legal entity’s incorporation date. Situated next to the Hasso Plattner Institute, HPVC backs European pre-seed and seed businesses in enterprise technology, AI, digital health and cybersecurity, and offers founder support and enterprise introductions through HPVC Tailwind. Current native portfolio examples include clinical-documentation company voize, dementia digital-therapy developer Memodio, ultrasound-AI company Thinksono, digital-health company Praxipal, pathogen sequencing-software company Seqstant and enterprise-AI companies Qorelo and Zeit AI. The Hasso Plattner Institute ecosystem affiliation does not make the institute a second cash buyer, and no merger with similarly named Hasso Plattner Ventures managers is inferred. Retrieved primary sources do not disclose a verified external LP fund close or corpus; indicative investment tickets and accelerator offers are not fund sizes or evidence of completed company proceeds. The complete current public roster has nine named staff with authentic own-published portraits. The former HPI website’s software-engineer role for Johannes Herzog is superseded by the current native investment-analyst title; Carl von Bechtolsheim is not included in the current roster and no departure date is inferred.
