HBAN MedTech Syndicate

HBAN MedTech Syndicate is the Irish medical-technology business-angel syndicate identified by the national HBAN network and its own medtechsyndicate.com website. Its own current history dates formation to2014. HBAN describes the community as Galway-based; its own administrative correspondence address is No1 Grant’s Row, Dublin2. It backs early-stage medical devices, diagnostics and digital health, including neurological technologies NeuroBell, Neuromod and Vertigenius and AI pathology company Deciphex. It is distinct from the unrelated plural-domain medtechsyndicates.com venture business. The syndicate is a club owned by its business-angel members, not a regulated venture-capital fund. Individual members make final investment decisions; pooled holdings use a nominee limited company and investment funds pass through solicitors’ client accounts. Its own FAQ identifies Medtech Syndicate Nominee Ltd as a Department of Justice-registered trust/company service provider and explicitly says it is not regulated by the Central Bank. The primary Irish CRO2024 annual-return gazette identifies that nominee as company543136, Medtech Syndicate Nominee Limited. A2018 CRO name-change gazette records an earlier HBAN-prefixed nominee name; the later name-restoration date is unpublished. The club and nominee are related operational/legal scopes, not assumed identical treasury accounts or duplicate institutional buyers. The exact subscribing nominee or member vehicles in individual company financings remain unpublished unless expressly named. No separate LP fund, fund close or club balance-sheet investment is inferred. All five people published in its own current leadership directory are recorded with genuine named original portraits: chair Yvan Gouttebelle and directors Bridget O’Brien, Colin Henehen, Pat Coakley and John Sisk. Colin’s former chairship is historical. Public testimonials use abbreviated names and are not treated as an identifiable full member roster. The website’s80members,25companies and EUR31M invested describe cumulative syndicate activity, not a new fund close, available corpus or individual company cash allocation. NeuroBell’s primary university announcements expressly identify the HBAN MedTech syndicate as a co-leader of the EUR2.1M seed secured in Q4,2023 and announced January8,2024, and a returning participant in the USD5.5M financing announced June30,2026. These published syndicate relationships represent member-mediated backing; individual tickets and the exact nominee subscriber are undisclosed. The company owner records one qualified participation per actual financing. Other public portfolio names are audited separately before company or cash attribution.
