It targets about 25 startups across healthcare, drug discovery, biotech, AI, quantum, space, climate and agri-food, supporting university-originated technologies from seed through growth. It can invest up to ¥2 billion cumulatively per company and operate for 11 years, with a possible three-year extension. The fund supports Japanese companies’ international expansion, particularly into India. The July 2024 final close is the qualifying event within the research window; March 2023 formation is earlier.
