Foundation Venture Capital Group

Princeton, New Jersey, United States

Foundation Venture Capital Group, LLC (FVCG) is a Princeton, New Jersey health-technology impact investor affiliated with New Jersey Health Foundation and Foundation for Health Advancement. The own native logo names the exact LLC and its New Jersey Health Foundation affiliation; US trademark records independently identify that legal company. Rutgers primary2009/2012 publications establish a2006 inception, while the company LinkedIn metadata says2005; no exact founding day is asserted. It supplies pre-seed and seed financing and strategic, operational and back-office support to university and healthcare research spin-outs at affiliated New Jersey institutions. Investment gains support further research and innovation. It is distinct from the unrelated Foundation Capital VC and from its separately named affiliated foundations; a LinkedIn nonprofit category is not treated as independent proof of the LLC tax classification. Neuroscience relevance is directly supported by historical Durin neurodegenerative-disease diagnostics, MentiNova Parkinson’s dyskinesia drug research and Zena anxiety/addiction therapeutics; digital-pathology and medical-device holdings also support deep-technology relevance. These research descriptions do not establish regulatory approvals, clinical efficacy or AI models for every company. The current native directory lists five staff and seven living directors, plus George F.Heinrich as memorial vice-chair emeritus (1945–2025). Three venture associates retained in an older browser-cached version but absent from the current downloaded roster are separately marked historical/last-published, with no inferred precise departure dates. Rutgers2012 reports an initial USD5million allocation from NJHF’s endowment to support the separate venture organization; this is historical institutional capitalization, not an external LP fund close, current AUM or a distinct registered pooled fund. Published up-to500K early investment commitments and newer1M company commitments are not automatically actual paid tickets. The portfolio explicitly identifies Durin, Longevica and Visikol as exited through equity sales; a disposal is not a fresh financing or proof of continuing ownership. No successor entity or fund vehicle is inferred from shared board/staff. New Jersey Health Foundation’s own January31,2013 release independently confirms that FVCG was established in2006 with an initial USD5million from NJHF and announces board approval of an additional USD5million investment allocation. The latter is an approved institutional allocation, not a verified new externally subscribed LP fund, actual fully drawn cash, currentAUM or company fundraising. That release’s nine historical portfolio entries also identify spinal-cord-injury cell research, cancer biomarkers and drug-discovery companies absent from the current portfolio page. The older Rutgers2012 capitalization PDF remains browser-indexed but its direct original URL now returns404; the accessible parent-issued2013 source corroborates the amount and year.
