EIT Health
EIT Health is a European nonprofit healthcare innovation network legally identified as EIT Health e.V., based in Munich. It connects healthcare, research, education and business partners and supports medical technology, life sciences, digital health, data-driven innovation and healthy ageing through strategic funding, startup programmes, education and commercialization support. Its funding includes European Union support through the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, member contributions, regional and national funding and selected commercial activity reinvested in its mission. Its published governance comprises five management-board members and eight supervisory-board members; supervisory members’ outside employers are professional affiliations, not EIT Health employees. The 2020 Start-up Rescue Instrument awarded EUR5.5 million across eleven named startups through co-investment grants in return for options. MRIguidance is explicitly among the recipients. This funding mechanism is distinguished from ordinary priced venture equity, mentoring and programme participation. Individual award and disbursement amounts are not inferred from aggregate totals or maximum awards. The parent European Institute of Innovation and Technology is a separate institution; EIT Health is not represented as a private venture fund.
