Sonia Gandhi is listed by Parkinson’s UK as Professor Sonia Gandhi. Own published biography: Professor Sonia Gandhi Photo credit: Dave Guttridge I was delighted to be appointed in 2026 as both a Parkinson’s UK trustee and as a director of the charity’s drug development and discovery programme, Parkinson’s Research Ventures. I am a Deputy Research Director at The Francis Crick Institute and a Professor of Neurology at UCL where I lead a neuroscience research programme focused on Parkinson’s, driven by patient involvement, and aiming to discover new treatments for the condition. Throughout my career, I have sought to understand the molecular causes of Parkinson’s and have been involved in studies exploring the potential of disease modifying therapies and developing precision medicine approaches. I'm excited to be helping to shape the future of Parkinson's UK to provide the best possible support to the Parkinson’s community and to play a role in developing Parkinson's Research Ventures' portfolio of new drugs.

Sangeeta Kulkarni is listed by Parkinson’s UK as Dr Sangeeta Kulkarni. Own published biography: Dr Sangeeta Kulkarni I was honoured to be appointed as a trustee in December 2024. I am a consultant geriatrician based in Gloucestershire with over a decade of experience in the care of older adults, including those living with Parkinson’s. I hope to contribute to the charity’s mission by offering a clinical perspective on key decisions, supporting the development of educational programs, and advocating for improved access to specialist care. My role as a clinical specialist has given me an insight into the complexities of symptom management, the importance of multidisciplinary care, and the need for continuous innovation in treatments and support services. I am particularly interested in enhancing awareness and education around non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s, such as cognitive decline, sleep disturbances, frailty, multiple coexisting health conditions and mental health challenges. These symptoms can often be overlooked but have a profound effect on an individual’s well-being. I believe that collaboration between medical professionals, researchers, policymakers, and patient communities is essential in driving progress. I am excited to contribute to the charity’s initiatives, ensuring that every person with Parkinson’s has access to the best possible care, support, and information. Watch Sangeeta's chat with Gary Shaughnessy (our Chair) on YouTube to find out more about her interests, background and why she became a Parkinson's UK trustee. Companies House spells the same trustee legal name Sangita Sachin Kulkarni; the statutorydirector appointmentFebruary5,2025 is distinct from the biography’s December2024 trusteejoining statement.

Peter Miller is listed by Parkinson’s UK as Peter Miller. Own published biography: Peter Miller I am delighted to have been elected a Trustee of Parkinson’s UK for a second time as I have a deep personal commitment to improve the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s. My wife’s diagnosis in 2014, resulted in my involvement in advocacy and research within the Parkinson’s community locally and nationally. I enjoyed a career in international sales and marketing including leadership roles at HP and Pearson, giving me experience in lobbying, governance and stakeholder engagement. After retiring in 2017, I dedicated my time to volunteering for the NHS, Parkinson’s UK, and other charities. I served as a Trustee of Parkinson’s UK from 2019 to 2023, representing the Parkinson’s community in England. In 2018, my wife and I were co-founders of Fighting Fit, a small charity delivering residential wellbeing courses for those with early-stage Parkinson’s. At the end of 2023, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (an incurable, but treatable, cancer of the bone marrow) and as a result stepped back during chemo treatment but I am currently in remission and ready to get back to work. I am passionate about championing the patient voice, tackling healthcare inequality, and supporting those with complex and advanced Parkinson’s. I relish the opportunity to support the future development of the charity.

Pamela Harding is listed by Parkinson’s UK as Pamela Harding. Own published biography: Pamela Harding I became a trustee and Chair of the Board’s People Committee in 2025. My professional and volunteer work is driven by a desire to serve and benefit individuals and societies. The work that Parkinson's UK does is close to my heart because a close relative has Parkinson's. As an experienced senior HR professional, I've successfully developed and led many people-related initiatives that have improved organisations’ effectiveness. I also have expertise in organisational design and understanding how the right technology, processes, people, culture, and resources contribute to achieving the best results.

Outside of work and Parkinson’s UK, I love to travel and play an active role in my community in North London. My experience in finance means I’m passionate about making the most of every penny Parkinson’s UK receives. I want us to find a cure and in the meantime make life better for people with Parkinson’s, and their family, friends and carers. Watch Katrina's chat with Gary Shaughnessy (our Chair) on YouTube to find out more about her interests, background and why she became a Parkinson's UK trustee.

I also enjoy supporting the regional fundraising activities. As a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Finance Director for a national social care sector charity, I believe I can bring my financial skills and acumen to be a highly effective member of the Board and ensure we have the funds to invest in Parkinson’s UK. I will use my experiences of postdoctoral work in cancer research within the NHS and university settings to contribute effectively at meetings, supporting the provision of excellent health care and investing in research for new treatments. In my spare time, I love nothing more than being with my family, keeping fit, going to the theatre and reading.

Jane Burston is listed by Parkinson’s UK as Jane Burston OBE. Own published biography: Jane Burston OBE In my day job, I run a charity of a similar size. I bring experience of what others in the charity sector are doing, so we can keep up to date. I also have a lot of fundraising experience, having raised over £150m for my organisation in the last 4 years. Previously, I was head of a department of a large science lab, responsible for managing £18m of scientific research each year, so I can also contribute to discussions about research for new treatments. I’m involved with Parkinson’s UK because my dad was diagnosed at age 40. I used to run a lot of marathons for Parkinson’s and have met some fantastic people on sponsored walks who are now firm friends. Because of my dad and my younger friends with Parkinson’s, I think a lot about how Parkinson’s UK can support people of working age with Parkinson’s and the challenges they face, such as caring for younger families. I love volunteering for Parkinson’s UK and hope I get re-elected so I can continue to contribute to making life better for everyone affected. Own published biography: "I've held various positions over my almost 40-year career, including Scientific Director of the Parkinson’s UK Brain Bank and Deputy Head of the Division of Brain Sciences at Imperial College London. At Imperial, I had a research team looking into the causes and developing new treatments for Parkinson's. And in 2017 I joined Parkinson's UK as the Associate Director of Research. "My relationship with the charity started when they funded my PhD in 1985, so I’m very proud to now be stepping into a leadership role which oversees the research grants programme and portfolio of active projects. The research that’s happening in this area is not only building a pipeline of discoveries to fuel the Parkinson’s UK drug development and discovery work, it’s also helping us better understand the condition, how it develops, how we can monitor it and how symptoms can be managed in other ways, including non-drug approaches. All of this is vital work. "In my new role as Research Director, I will also oversee research communications and involvement, making sure that the views of people with Parkinson’s are taken into account in our work and that of others. Additionally, we must maximise the potential opportunities for people with Parkinson’s to take part in research. It’s an area that I’m passionate about as it’s vital to shaping the future of research."

Insight Partners source, reviewed October 8, 2026: I joined Insight Partners in 2021 to focus on high-growth software businesses across SaaS, DevOps, and infrastructure. Previously, I worked as a seed investor at Primary Venture Partners and growth investor at B Capital Group. Across my investing career, I've been fortunate enough to invest at every stage of a company's growth, from pre-seed to pre-IPO, and it is clear that the team is always what matters most. Before I became an investor, I worked in go-to-market roles at three B2B startups. My innate extroversion, empathy, and curious mind were a natural fit for customer-facing roles where I could truly understand their problems and come up with solutions for how to solve them. My time working at two developer platforms (one of which was an Insight portfolio company!) taught me the importance of being creative and efficient — traits that were the embodiment of the best engineers. Working at a distributed open-source company showed me the power of community and how great ideas can come from anywhere. This inspired me to start a podcast show in grad school called 52 Founders to uncover the psychology behind entrepreneurship. Though each entrepreneur had a different story to tell, the common themes were perseverance and being unafraid of failure. Outside of work, I am typically planning my next big adventure around the world or immersing myself in fictional ones, whether reading a SciFi series or seeing the latest Marvel movie. Verified name bridge: Exact Filigran primary board calls her Crissy Costa Behrens and Insight Principal; Insight own Crissy Behrens profile lists Filigran partnership, the same software-investing career and board relationship. Preserve original canonical full-name person and board role; current Insight MD versus issuer older Principal not silently overwritten.
