Sonia Gandhi
Sonia Gandhi is listed by Parkinson’s UK as Professor Sonia Gandhi. Own published biography: Professor Sonia Gandhi Photo credit: Dave Guttridge I was delighted to be appointed in 2026 as both a Parkinson’s UK trustee and as a director of the charity’s drug development and discovery programme, Parkinson’s Research Ventures. I am a Deputy Research Director at The Francis Crick Institute and a Professor of Neurology at UCL where I lead a neuroscience research programme focused on Parkinson’s, driven by patient involvement, and aiming to discover new treatments for the condition. Throughout my career, I have sought to understand the molecular causes of Parkinson’s and have been involved in studies exploring the potential of disease modifying therapies and developing precision medicine approaches. I'm excited to be helping to shape the future of Parkinson's UK to provide the best possible support to the Parkinson’s community and to play a role in developing Parkinson's Research Ventures' portfolio of new drugs.
