Sun Joo Lee
Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, Sunjoo worked in the laboratory of William Hahn, MD, Ph.D. at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, studying p300/CBP dependency in cancer. While she was a Ph.D. candidate, she worked as a venture capital fellow covering the biotech sector at Longitude Capital Management. Prior to starting her doctoral work, she worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a researcher, studying the molecular mechanism of aberrant cell division in cancer. As an undergraduate, she trained in the laboratory of Gregg Semenza MD PhD, (2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine) at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, studying the role of HIFs in breast cancer metastasis. Sunjoo holds a Ph.D. in Biological & Biomedical sciences from Harvard University and a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Johns Hopkins University.
