Kate Hoy

Kate Hoy is publicly named by the Bionics Institute as head of cognitive therapeutics research program. Professor Kate Hoy (she/her) is head of the Cognitive Therapeutics Research Program at the Bionics Institute. Professor Hoy is a leading clinical researcher and has been awarded three sequential NHMRC Fellowships; an NHMRC excellence award (Top Ranked CDF); and a 2017 Victorian Telstra Business Women’s Award. She is a practicing neuropsychologist and is Director of The Neuropsychology Practice. Her vision is to transform the existing therapeutic landscape for cognitive disorders by developing, for the first time, truly effective therapies. Over more than 18 years, Professor Hoy has built an internationally unique program of clinical research investigating non-invasive brain stimulation for the treatment of cognitive disorders. Kate Hoy is a co-inventor of CogTx’s MRI-based software for personalized transcranial magnetic stimulation, alongside Oscar Murphy and David Hill. CogTx is commercializing Bionics Institute research; its Alzheimer’s application remains investigational.
