AJ Velasquez-Mao

AJ Velasquez-Mao is a senior associate on Pivotal's San Francisco investment team, which he joined in 2026. He previously invested in early-stage therapeutics at Dolby Family Ventures and covered biotechnology at Jefferies. He holds a joint UC Berkeley/UCSF bioengineering PhD and an undergraduate bioengineering degree from Rice University.
