Uppsala University Invest
Uppsala University Invest (UU Invest) is Uppsala University’s investment and commercialization company. It takes minority stakes in early research-based businesses and helps researchers and students validate technology, markets and business models, including projects before a company is established. It supports portfolio companies with active ownership, business development and networks of entrepreneurs, specialists and investors, using a longer investment horizon than many venture-capital firms. Its investments span life sciences, deep technology and other university-derived innovations, and investment returns are reinvested in new research-based projects. Founded in 1995, it also operates project and intellectual-property subsidiaries.
