Spero Ventures
Spero Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in companies that improve health, sustainability and human fulfillment. Launched in 2018, it focuses on late seed and early Series A financings, typically leading or co-leading rounds of $3 million to $10 million with initial checks of $2 million to $4 million and reserves for follow-on investment. Its AI and deep technology portfolio spans warehouse robotics, healthcare automation, drug formulation, genomics, electric vehicles, energy and agriculture. Public portfolio companies include Corvus Robotics, Persist AI, Hyro, Pickaxe, Allie Systems, Aralez Bio, Telo Trucks and Wattch. Its current public investment team consists of General Partners Shripriya Mahesh, Andrew Parker and Sara Eshelman; Venture Partner Marc Tarpenning; Principal Stephen Wemple; and Associate Nolan Shah. Spero's initial fund was announced at $100 million in March 2018. The firm announced its $125 million Spero Fund II, LP in November 2025, identifying it as a 2024-vintage fund already being deployed. Spero backed Corvus' seed financing, co-led its seed and Series A funding program described in October 2024, and participated in its $20 million Series A-2 announced in August 2026.
