Rewire AI
Rewire AI is a Portland, Oregon-based biomedical computer-vision company spun out of Washington State University. Previously branded Rewire Neuro and Rewire Neuroscience, it announced the Rewire AI name in April 2023; its current website identifies the business as Rewire Neuro, Inc. Its Polygon AI image-analysis software, previously Pipsqueak Pro, and Sightologist.ai inference engine automate cell and biomarker detection and quantification in microscopy images, with custom machine-learning models and integrations for research and diagnostic-device partners. Founder and CEO John Harkness trained in behavioral neuroscience; Kristy Lawton is its scientific lead. Partnerships include Neurescence for neuronal image analysis and eLabNext for laboratory workflow integration. Documented support includes NIH SBIR and STTR research grants, Business Oregon grants, an Angel Oregon Tech investment and pre-seed backing from Elevate Capital. NIH records identify the recipient under the earlier name Rewire Neuroscience, LLC, with John H. Harkness as principal investigator. These research awards are distinct from equity financing. Company releases describe a 2019 founding, while university materials document the earlier neuroscience startup and technology origins. The current public sources do not establish a complete employee roster or clinical approval for its software.
