Polaris Private Equity
Malmøgade 3, DK-2100 Copenhagen, Denmark
Polaris Private Equity is the majority-investment strategy of the Copenhagen-based Nordic investment house Polaris, operated by Danish legal fund manager Polaris Management A/S (CVR28501765; Danish Financial Supervisory Authority AIFM number23009). The Polaris brand was founded in1998. This profile covers the verified Danish manager and its private-equity investment attribution, with explicitly qualified shared platform staff and complementary strategies. It is distinct from US Polaris Partners, Polaris Innovation Fund, vehicle distributor polaris.dk and other similarly named companies. Exact contracting acquisition vehicles and funds remain transaction-specific rather than being treated as interchangeable legal payers. Its primary-equity strategy buys controlling interests in established mid-sized Nordic businesses and supports operating and technical development. Complementary Polaris Flexible Capital supplies junior debt and minority equity; Polaris Public Equity invests in listed Nordic companies. These strategies share services and personnel but have distinct investment mandates. The current published directory identifies58 staff and4 corporate board members, including managing partner Jan Johan Kühl and AI Lead Anders Giovanni Møller. Advisory, finance, compliance, interim sustainability and corporate board functions are qualified individually. Private-equity relevance to deep technology is directly supported by the2016 majority acquisition of Configit, a formal-methods product-configuration software company. Current digital-services investments and industrial battery/IoT companies are queued for precise source and identity checks. This is not a claim that every portfolio company is an AI or neuroscience business. Configit’s original February4,2016 announcement says Polaris acquired65% of existing shares through its FundIV strategy, with founders and Andersen Advisory remaining owners. Purchase consideration was not disclosed. This source establishes a secondary ownership transaction, not an invented primary company cash raise or personal partner investment. Fundraising is recorded once per verified legal fund. Own history establishes FundI180MEUR in1998, FundII270MEUR in2005 and FundIII365MEUR in2009, with exact days unknown. FundIV first closed2.2BDKK inJanuary2015 and finally closed inJune2016 at3.3BDKK; current summaries round its commitment to450MEUR versus448MEUR in older compliance material. FundV closedJanuary31,2022 at650MEUR institutional hard cap,690MEUR including team commitments. Flexible CapitalI first closed500MDKKJanuary28,2022 and finally closedJune30,2023 at900MDKK; current130MEUR commitment is a differently dated rounded figure. VI and co-invest vehicles have current published legal KIDs but no verified cash-close amount. CS FundI’s270MEUR current commitment and management transfer inMarch2025 are not a new Polaris LP cash close. Public-equity share classes are not separate funds. Current1.6BEUR AUM and historical15.6BDKK aggregate commitments are not company fundraising or fresh fund closes. Source inconsistencies in stale webpages are retained explicitly rather than assigning guessed dates. Legal continuity clarification: the manager’s signed2023 report states Polaris Management A/S was established February8,2005;1998 is the broader Polaris brand/first-fund origin. Direct inspection of the current Friends & Family KID proves it is Share Class B1 of Polaris Flexible Capital I K/S (CVR42267627/FT24835), not a separate co-investment fund. An initially over-separated empty programme record has been removed after a full foreign-key, untyped-reference and native Delete-preview audit, with original receipts preserved. Its legal identity is now recorded within the one existing PFCI vehicle. The direct public-equity KID establishes the Polaris Public Equity product and share classes, with Polaris Management A/S as manufacturer. The exact registered SICAV feeder name remains unresolved because published website materials differ between PPE and PPU; neither spelling is promoted to an independently verified legal name.
