Neuronicon
NeuronIcon ApS was a Danish neuroscience biotechnology company built on Anders Nykjær and Thomas Willnow’s research into neuronal receptor signaling and cell survival. Capnova’s own portfolio history and Nykjær’s contemporary university biography place its founding in 2004 and confirm initial risk-capital investment and advisory support by the Capnova predecessor platform. Its research sought therapeutic approaches to neurodegenerative disease and damage after stroke; these are historical research aims, not proof of an approved product or clinical efficacy. In 2009 its technology was sold to Lundbeck and Capnova exited, while the company continued independently in collaboration with academic laboratories. This technology transfer is not modeled as a whole-company acquisition or new equity financing. Aarhus University’s August17,2015 closure announcement says the company wound down after its scientific goals were achieved, names Nykjær as former leader and adds Jan Møller Mikkelsen among its founders. The same article contains a conflicting 2007 founding year and loose acquisition terminology; the more specific investor history and contemporary 2005 university evidence support the 2004 founding and technology-sale scope. Public CVR mirrors identify NEURONICON ApS, CVR26988179, as dissolved after voluntary liquidation, but the official registry could not be retrieved and its exact May2016 legal dissolution day is not asserted as primary verified. Only historical founder/leadership roles are recorded; no current company operating team is claimed.
