Tokyo-based clinical-stage biotechnology company founded in 2005 that discovers and develops medicines targeting SLC membrane transporters, particularly the LAT1 amino-acid transporter. Its cancer program nanvuranlat (JPH203) is a small-molecule LAT1 inhibitor being developed for biliary tract cancer and entered a global Phase III study in December 2025. Its neuroscience program JPH034 is a brain-penetrant LAT1 inhibitor being developed for multiple sclerosis, aiming to modulate inflammation and microglial activity in demyelinating lesions; Phase I began in March 2026. J-Pharma also researches additional transporter-targeting drugs and diagnostics. It listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in March 2026; its medicines remain in development.
