Kalkværksvej 16,7,8000 Aarhus C,Denmark · Haifagade 3,2150 Nordhavn,Denmark
Innovation Fund Denmark, legally Danmarks Innovationsfond and historically branded Innovationsfonden, is Denmark's public research and innovation funding institution, CVR 29035695. Its mission is to translate research and knowledge into businesses, technologies and societal benefit rather than earn a financial return. Its current website explicitly identifies artificial intelligence, quantum technology, critical digital technologies, biotechnology, life sciences and health among its areas of support. It has offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen. The institution began operating in 2014. Its annual report accounts for Danish Finance Act appropriations under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Its legal basis is the Act on Danmarks Innovationsfond, including the consolidated Act no.156 of February13,2025. This is an institutional public grant provider, distinct from commercial venture capital funds and Innovation Fund Europe. Annual appropriations, programme envelopes and outstanding grant commitments are not external LP fund closes or fresh company equity. Its public programmes include Innobooster for knowledge-based SME development, Innoexplorer for research commercialization, Innofounder for entrepreneurs, Industrial Researcher, Grand Solutions partnerships, international research collaborations and mission-driven Innomissions. Published company and project relationships must retain their actual programme and funding form. Grant support does not imply share ownership, a clinical approval or a personal investment by a board member. The current published executive leadership is CEO Cecilie Brøkner, Chief Program Officer Søren Asp Mikkelsen and Chief Financial Officer Michael Friis Lindinger. The full public employee directory is recorded separately from external governance and expert panels. Anders Eldrup chairs the board and Philipp Schröder is vice chair. The September11,2026 official appointment announcement adds Jes Broeng and Ingrid Sofie Harbo and renews Philipp's appointment through June2029. Mette Glavind's term is extended through June2027. Thomas Bech Hansen's announced appointment begins July1,2027; he is not represented as a current director in October2026. The authoritative current Danish board directory includes Peter Holme Jensen and excludes Christian Ketels and Sine Reker Hadrup. The latter two are retained as explicitly historical March2026 annual-report affiliations, with unknown exact departure dates. The English machine translation retains a stale roster and is not used to override the Danish directory. Peter, Morten Novak Bro and Mette Glavind also serve on the published Programme Oversight committee. The September2026 website launch adopted the full statutory name and danmarksinnovationsfond.dk domain without changing the institution's legal identity. The stored authentic logo is the official historical wordmark extracted from the March2026 annual report; the new brand's linked official asset library currently returns no public access, so the replacement logo remains a documented gap. Generic placeholder board images are not authentic portraits. NMD Pharma announced receipt of a EUR629,000 grant on November30,2020 for discovery and development of medicines for neuromuscular disease. A later DKK4.7million reference concerns that same award rather than a second grant or equity financing. Other published relevant project recipients include gMendel's AI-based genetic diagnostics and Chromaviso's circadian lighting research. Their project budgets are distinguished from the institution's own grant contribution; exact additional company links require separately verified recipient profiles and award evidence.
