Halo Neuroscience

San Francisco, California, United States

Halo Neuroscience is the historical San Francisco neurotechnology company founded in2013 and identified in Global Brain’s2018 investment announcement as Halo Neuro Inc. It developed Halo Sport, a non-invasive transcranial direct current stimulation headset targeting the motor cortex during athletic and motor-skill training. Its advertised neuropriming and performance benefits are company claims. The venture is relevant to neuroscience and deep technology; no specific AI algorithm, neural implant or investment by its athletic customers is inferred. Its historical founding contributors include Daniel Chao and Brett Wingeier, alongside Amol Sarva and Lee von Kraus, whose own biographies and original Halo Neuro patent inventorship corroborate their roles. Von Kraus’s personal2012 research-origin account is distinguished from the company’s2013 founding description. Published historical leadership and staff include Mark Mastalir, Peter Gotcher, Heath Lukatch, Gordon Wright and Danielle Wall, plus the legacy company directory. Historical affiliations do not assert current employment in the relaunched brand. Flow Neuroscience announced the acquisition of Halo technology, R&D and patents on February5,2021. The disclosed transaction was an asset purchase with an unpublished price, rather than a new venture financing or proof of a statutory merger. The original haloneuro.com is no longer resolvable. The current haloneuroscience.com site relaunches Halo as a wellness brand operated by Flow Neuroscience Technology Inc., according to its December17,2025 privacy policy. The current Halo wellness product is explicitly not FDA approved or cleared and is not intended to treat disease; the separate Flow depression device’s authorization does not apply to Halo. The inherited financing graph preserves five priced rows representing approximately three economic raises: USD1.5M early financing, USD9M Series A and USD13M Series B. The two9M rows and two13M rows preserve institutional and personal source histories and must not be summed as additional cash. Every inherited row and participation remains unchanged. The original issuer’s January30,2018 release confirms the USD13M B led by TPG with Lux, JAZZ and Xfund; its legacy January31 secondary announcement date remains recorded. The April3,2018 KOIFII investment announcement may belong to the same financing cycle; no extra priced raise or individual allocation is inferred.
