Investment-fund research reviewed 2026-10-06. Publicly identified funds, dates, amounts and fundraising status are below. Undisclosed commitments remain unknown; this is not a complete register of private SPVs or parallel entities.
Fund sizes, vintages and status
| Vehicle / evidence date | Amount and status | Evidence and interpretation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Badia Impact Fund I, historical | USD 33m capital reported in 2017 | [World Bank Innovative Startups Fund appraisal](https://documents1.worldbank.org/curated/en/264161498500277234/pdf/Project-Appraisal-Document-PAD-P161905-June-5-06062017.pdf ), 2017-06-05, Box 4.2, identifies the Middle East arm of Silicon Badia and its capital. This is a historical vehicle figure, not current AUM. Earlier EIB reporting used a USD 20m target; different dates/status explain the apparent difference. [EIB 2013 operations report](https://www.eib.org/attachments/country/eib_rem_annual_report_2013_en.pdf ), report year 2013, p.33. |
| Badia Impact Squared / BIF II, approval 2020 | USD 50m target; EBRD commitment up to USD 10m | [EBRD project 51388](https://www.ebrd.com/home/work-with-us/projects/psd/51388.html ), approved 2020-03-31, disclosed 2020-04-29; project marked Signed. USD 10m is the LP commitment, not the whole fund. |
| BIF II, October 2020 transaction disclosure | Approximately USD 54m expected first-close size; USD 65m target final close; DGGF USD 10m commitment | [DGGF transaction](https://english.dggf.nl/documents/2020/10/21/investment-funds-in-local-smes-transaction-badia-impact-fund ), 2020-10-21. Wording is expected/targeted, not proof of a completed USD 65m final close. |
| New MENA fund, June 2021 | Official update headline reports USD 50m secured | [Official updates](https://siliconbadia.com/updates/ ) places the linked Forbes Middle East fund announcement in June 2021. [Forbes Middle East article](https://www.forbesmiddleeast.com/innovation/startups/silicon-badia-secures-%2450m-for-new-mena-based-venture-fund ) was opened but exposed only a page shell, so the detailed close status was not independently read. Treat USD 50m as a reported financing milestone, not a reconciliation of all BIF II figures. |
| BIF II, second close reported July 2022 | ANAVA USD 5.2m commitment | [Wamda](https://www.wamda.com/2022/07/anava-fund-funds-invests-5-2-million-silicon-badias-bif2 ), 2022-07-12, says first close occurred October 2020 and ANAVA joined the second close. USD 5.2m is one LP commitment; not total fund size. |
| Unspecified Silicon Badia vehicle in a 2022 ecosystem profile | USD 75m labeled fund size; vehicle and close status unclear | [UNDP/UN Jordan Seeds of Impact](https://jordan.un.org/sites/default/files/2022-06/Seedsofimpact%20%281%29.pdf ), hosted June 2022, names Silicon Badia and Series A/B focus. Its USD 75m figure lacks sufficient vehicle/status detail to equate confidently to BIF II or current AUM. |
| Badia Outreach Funds I and II | Size not verified | Official investee pages explicitly name these funds for Strateos, Ceres and Gatik (below), but disclose no sizes or close dates. |
BIF II is the latest named MENA fundraising vehicle verified in this review. Official updates through August 2026 and searches for 2025–2026 fundraising and Fund III produced no verified newer fund close. This does not establish that no newer fund exists. Current aggregate AUM, final BIF II size and current dry powder remain unverified. Do not add the above targets, actual capital and LP commitments together.

| Strateos, formerly Transcriptic | Robotic, remotely operated life-science laboratories and experimental automation. [Official investor page](https://www.siliconbadia.com/portfolio/transcriptic/ ) names Badia Outreach Fund I. [Company website](https://strateos.com/ ) confirms laboratory robotics and cloud control. Both undated. | Investment date/check not officially verified. Secondary databases indicate Transcriptic seed in November 2012; treat as a lead needing an original funding announcement. The firm's June 2021 USD 56m financing news does not itself prove participation in that later round. |
| Ceres Imaging / Ceres AI | Spectral imaging and analytic measurement of crop water/nutrient stress; qualifies as applied sensing/imaging technology. [Official firm portfolio](https://www.siliconbadia.com/portfolio/ceres-imaging/ ) names Badia Outreach Fund I. | Firm attribution is verified; initial amount/date remain unverified in primary sources. Journalist Nina Roberts reports an investment in 2014 in her [republished firm profile](https://ninaroberts.net/silicon-badia-namek-zubi ), 2018-era reporting. Later Ceres round news does not prove Silicon Badia follow-on checks. |
| SOLS | Custom 3D-printed orthotics. | Silicon Badia joined USD 1.75m seed, announced 2014-01-27. [TechCrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2014/01/27/sols-raises-1-75-million-to-make-3d-printed-shoe-insoles-both-sexy-mainstream/ ). |
| Forever Labs | Adult stem-cell preservation and rejuvenation research; life-science/biotechnology exposure rather than neural interface technology. [Official portfolio](https://www.siliconbadia.com/portfolio/forever-labs/ ) names Badia Outreach Fund I. | USD 2m financing announced 2018-05-10, investee release names Silicon Badia Ventures. [Release republished by BioSpace](https://www.biospace.com/forever-labs-secures-2-million-to-combat-age-related-diseases-through-stem-cell-preservation ). Press-release origin, not independent clinical validation. |
Ordinary software, e-commerce, healthcare access and analytics investments (e.g. Userpilot, Cartona and Vezeeta) are not counted automatically as deep tech. EON Dental is a potentially relevant medical-manufacturing lead in the snapshot but its technology/IP and exact round attribution were not independently established here.
## Neurotech investments
**No verified neurotech investment found in the sources checked.** The checked set comprises the exact-ID snapshot, Signal firm and managing-partner profile, official portfolio and news, and targeted searches for Silicon Badia with neurotech, neuroscience, brain and brain-computer terminology. This describes public evidence coverage, not proof of an empty private portfolio.
Strateos' life-science automation and Forever Labs' stem-cell preservation are adjacent biotechnology. Transcriptic cofounder Max Hodak's later neurotechnology association must not transfer to this investee or imply that Silicon Badia backed Neuralink/Science Corp. Synapse Analytics is financial AI, not a neural-device company; Scalvy's Power Neuron is power electronics. Mental-health/digital-health or general machine-learning products do not become direct neurotech by name or branding.
## Conflicts, missing information and later Adex review
1. Preserve exact ID `GoldiSiliconBadia`; Goldi is provenance in the existing ID, not evidence of a different organization.
2. Retain distinct Impact versus Outreach fund attribution. Resolve BIF II USD 50m/54m/65m/75m figures with a final-close announcement before entering a single definitive size; keep ANAVA/EBRD/DGGF commitments separate.
3. Verify current headquarters and check sizes. Signal's Miami Beach location conflicts with the New York baseline; no source checked settles the current legal headquarters.
4. Snapshot firm investment amounts frequently equal full rounds. Scalvy USD 13.9m is total round size. Firm-specific contribution should remain unknown unless disclosed.
5. Snapshot has duplicate-looking Midlyr/MidLyr AI and Cartona/Cartona Egypt records; possible Thunder Code/Thunders AI alias history also merits identity review. Engagesoft's baseline Series A tag conflicts with the linked pre-Series A wording. Expensya's baseline seed tag conflicts with Wamda's Series B attribution; announced versus closing dates require review.
6. Official portfolio provides useful missing deep-tech firm links for Gatik, Ceres, Strateos and Forever Labs. Link these to firm funds only with the cited evidence; no individual-partner history imported.
7. An InfiniLink semiconductor funding lead appeared in secondary search results, but the articles name a Silicon Badia partner not corroborated by its known team and lack sufficiently verified official attribution. Do not add it as a confirmed firm investment on this review alone.
8. Dates on undated portfolio pages mean access dates, not investment dates. Company announcements describe technologies and financing, not independent proof of performance or clinical efficacy. All accessed sources: 2026-10-06. SHOW MORE

# Silicon Badia
- Exact Adex ID: `GoldiSiliconBadia`
- Canonical Adex URL: https://adex.page/firms/GoldiSiliconBadia
- Research date and source access date: 2026-10-06
- Status: complete research; unresolved items are identified below. Research only; no Adex/database changes.
Silicon Badia is a global technology VC with separate US-oriented Badia Outreach funds and MENA-oriented Badia Impact funds. Its official homepage dates establishment to 2012 and reports more than 100 startups across more than 15 technology industries. Verified relevant investments include Scalvy (power electronics), Gatik (autonomous driving), Strateos/Transcriptic (robotic laboratory automation) and Ceres Imaging (spectral agricultural imaging). It is a broad technology investor rather than a verified neurotech specialist. [Official homepage](https://www.siliconbadia.com/ ) (undated).
## Starting evidence: Adex and NFX Signal
The exact-ID snapshot `data/research/_sources/GoldiSiliconBadia.adex.json`, retrieved 2026-10-06, names Silicon Badia, gives New York as a location, links the official site, NFX Signal and Goldi, and contains 30 investment participation records. Check minimum, maximum and sweet spot are null. The baseline includes Scalvy, Sols, EON Dental, Synapse Analytics and substantial ordinary software/commerce exposure; it is evidence to verify, not an independent source. Its `amount` values often reproduce entire company round sizes, so they do not establish Silicon Badia's individual contributions. The baseline describes 2012 establishment although its dedicated `founded` field is null.
[NFX firm profile](https://signal.nfx.com/firms/silicon-badia ) was directly read, not merely searched. It currently displays Miami Beach, Florida, and a co-investor list; the readable team area is empty. It does not expose a dependable fund size or stage mandate. [Namek T. Zu'bi's Signal profile](https://signal.nfx.com/investors/namek-t-zu-bi ) was also opened; indexed content identifies him as founding managing partner and lists personal investing history, including Scalvy Series A in March 2026 and MidLyr pre-seed in October 2025. Signal rounds are rounded (Scalvy $14m versus the official $13.9m). The directly read partner profile reports a USD 100k–5m investment range and USD 1.5m sweet spot, plus Seed/Series A rankings; these are third-party profile claims, not verified firm-wide check policy. These personal records should not create firm attribution without corroboration. Both pages undated, accessed 2026-10-06.
Location is unresolved: Adex says New York, Signal says Miami Beach, and official/reputable historical material describes US and Middle East offices. Do not silently replace a firm headquarters with an individual's location.
## Fund sizes, vintages and status
| Vehicle / evidence date | Amount and status | Evidence and interpretation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Badia Impact Fund I, historical | USD 33m capital reported in 2017 | [World Bank Innovative Startups Fund appraisal](https://documents1.worldbank.org/curated/en/264161498500277234/pdf/Project-Appraisal-Document-PAD-P161905-June-5-06062017.pdf ), 2017-06-05, Box 4.2, identifies the Middle East arm of Silicon Badia and its capital. This is a historical vehicle figure, not current AUM. Earlier EIB reporting used a USD 20m target; different dates/status explain the apparent difference. [EIB 2013 operations report](https://www.eib.org/attachments/country/eib_rem_annual_report_2013_en.pdf ), report year 2013, p.33. |
| Badia Impact Squared / BIF II, approval 2020 | USD 50m target; EBRD commitment up to USD 10m | [EBRD project 51388](https://www.ebrd.com/home/work-with-us/projects/psd/51388.html ), approved 2020-03-31, disclosed 2020-04-29; project marked Signed. USD 10m is the LP commitment, not the whole fund. |
| BIF II, October 2020 transaction disclosure | Approximately USD 54m expected first-close size; USD 65m target final close; DGGF USD 10m commitment | [DGGF transaction](https://english.dggf.nl/documents/2020/10/21/investment-funds-in-local-smes-transaction-badia-impact-fund ), 2020-10-21. Wording is expected/targeted, not proof of a completed USD 65m final close. |
| New MENA fund, June 2021 | Official update headline reports USD 50m secured | [Official updates](https://siliconbadia.com/updates/ ) places the linked Forbes Middle East fund announcement in June 2021. [Forbes Middle East article](https://www.forbesmiddleeast.com/innovation/startups/silicon-badia-secures-%2450m-for-new-mena-based-venture-fund ) was opened but exposed only a page shell, so the detailed close status was not independently read. Treat USD 50m as a reported financing milestone, not a reconciliation of all BIF II figures. |
| BIF II, second close reported July 2022 | ANAVA USD 5.2m commitment | [Wamda](https://www.wamda.com/2022/07/anava-fund-funds-invests-5-2-million-silicon-badias-bif2 ), 2022-07-12, says first close occurred October 2020 and ANAVA joined the second close. USD 5.2m is one LP commitment; not total fund size. |
| Unspecified Silicon Badia vehicle in a 2022 ecosystem profile | USD 75m labeled fund size; vehicle and close status unclear | [UNDP/UN Jordan Seeds of Impact](https://jordan.un.org/sites/default/files/2022-06/Seedsofimpact%20%281%29.pdf ), hosted June 2022, names Silicon Badia and Series A/B focus. Its USD 75m figure lacks sufficient vehicle/status detail to equate confidently to BIF II or current AUM. |
| Badia Outreach Funds I and II | Size not verified | Official investee pages explicitly name these funds for Strateos, Ceres and Gatik (below), but disclose no sizes or close dates. |
BIF II is the latest named MENA fundraising vehicle verified in this review. Official updates through August 2026 and searches for 2025–2026 fundraising and Fund III produced no verified newer fund close. This does not establish that no newer fund exists. Current aggregate AUM, final BIF II size and current dry powder remain unverified. Do not add the above targets, actual capital and LP commitments together.
## Investment stages and geography
EBRD explicitly describes BIF II as early-stage, predominantly Series A, focused on Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Lebanon, principally Jordan and Egypt. DGGF describes early and growth-stage MENA capital. Wamda's 2022 report gives Series A/B for BIF II. These are vehicle-specific mandates with disclosed dates, not a uniform restriction for every Silicon Badia fund. [EBRD](https://www.ebrd.com/home/work-with-us/projects/psd/51388.html ), 2020-04-29; [DGGF](https://english.dggf.nl/documents/2020/10/21/investment-funds-in-local-smes-transaction-badia-impact-fund ), 2020-10-21; [Wamda](https://www.wamda.com/2022/07/anava-fund-funds-invests-5-2-million-silicon-badias-bif2 ), 2022-07-12.
Recent official updates show pre-seed MidLyr, seed Thunder Code, pre-Series A Engagesoft and Series A Scalvy, indicating broader historical transaction coverage. Exact current firm-wide minimum stage and check ranges are not verified. A portfolio company's later round appearing in the firm's news feed is not proof Silicon Badia invested in that round. [Official updates](https://siliconbadia.com/updates/ ) (2025–2026 entries; accessed 2026-10-06).
## Named previous deep-tech investments
| Company | Technology rationale and firm attribution | Round/date and caveats |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Scalvy | Patented distributed power-conversion/control modules with embedded storage for data centers, grids and electric mobility; a substantive power-electronics architecture. Investee announcement explicitly names Silicon Badia as co-lead with an unnamed strategic investor. | USD 13.9m Series A, 2026-03-26; company total raised about USD 17m. Individual check not disclosed. [Scalvy announcement via PR Newswire](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/scalvy-raises-13-9m-series-a-to-solve-the-power-delivery-bottleneck-for-ai-data-centers-grid-and-mobility-302725233.html ). Its product name “Power Neuron” is metaphorical and is not neurotech evidence. |
| Gatik AI | Autonomous-driving software, robotics/perception and vehicle deployment. [Official firm portfolio](https://www.siliconbadia.com/portfolio/gatik-ai/ ) explicitly attributes it to Badia Outreach Fund II. | Official firm news records an investment in June 2018. A 2019 company seed round was USD 4.5m, but the [2019-06-06 TechCrunch report](https://techcrunch.com/2019/06/06/self-driving-delivery-van-startup-gatik-ai-comes-out-of-stealth-with-walmart-partnership/ ) does not name Silicon Badia in its investor list. Use firm-level attribution; exact initial round is unresolved. The 2026 Series D news listing does not establish a new Silicon Badia participation. | SHOW MORE
