Factorial Funds
San Francisco, California, United States · Menlo Park, California, United States · Newport Beach, California, United States
California venture investment firm founded by Sol Bier in 2021, making concentrated technology investments across the AI value chain: foundation models, inference silicon, cloud and data infrastructure, robotics, and the power systems supporting AI. Its strategy spans early and growth stage businesses. The firm lists offices in San Francisco, Menlo Park and Newport Beach. Published portfolio examples include Anthropic, Anduril, xAI, Fractile, Perplexity, Mistral AI, Ayar Labs, SpaceX, The Bot Company, Physical Intelligence and Thinking Machines, among others; the portfolio display is illustrative and includes some realised investments. In May 2025 it announced the launch of Fund II with $200 million in committed capital, anchored by Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, building on Fund I. These are fund commitments rather than a financing round into the management company, and no final-close date or Fund I size is assumed. Its 13-person current team spans investing, finance, legal and operations. Factorial Funds is distinct from similarly named Factorial Capital and the Factorial HR software company.
