Engrail Therapeutics
Engrail Therapeutics is a San Diego-based clinical-stage neuroscience pharmaceutical company founded in 2019. It develops precision-targeted medicines for neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders using acquisition, licensing, internal research and clinical development. Its published pipeline includes ENX-102, a selective GABAA modulator for anxiety; ENX-104, targeting dopamine D2/D3 autoreceptors for depression with anhedonia; ENX-205, targeting serotonin and dopamine receptors for PTSD and mood disorders; and ENX-203 (elesclomol), a copper ionophore being developed for Menkes disease. These programs remain investigational. Vikram Sudarsan is president and CEO, Kimberly Vanover is CSO and Paul Cayer is CFO. The company raised an initial USD32 million Series A in June 2020, extended by USD32 million in August 2021 to USD64 million total. A March 2024 USD157 million Series B, co-led by F-Prime Capital, Forbion and Norwest, was extended by USD10 million from Foresite Capital in August 2024, bringing that same round to USD167 million.
