The Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science (Uddannelses- og Forskningsstyrelsen, UFS) is a Danish state administrative agency, CVR 34042012, headquartered at Haraldsgade 53, 2100 Copenhagen Ø. Its official contact page confirms the agency identity, grants-payment EAN 5798000416697 and that UFS-IT uses the same CVR. As of October 2026 it operates under the Ministry of Research, Education and Digitalisation; the ministry and agency remain separate administrative identities. The current combined agency was created on 1 October 2020 by merging the Agency for Institutions and Educational Grants with the Agency for Science and Higher Education. Earlier predecessor registry dates are distinguished from this agency's creation. Its website ufsn.dk launched in December 2025; historical ufm.dk records remain primary sources. It administers legal frameworks and state appropriations for research, higher education, knowledge-based innovation and international cooperation, oversees institutions, and serves as Denmark's national space authority. These functions support AI, deep technology and life-science research. Its updated purpose page records that payment of SU, transport discounts and SVU transferred on 1 October 2026 to Udbetaling Danmark and Arbejdsgivernes Uddannelsesbidrag. Those former responsibilities are not presented as unchanged current duties. gMendel's 2022 review and ecosystem page identify actual agency support alongside Innovation Fund Denmark and private investors. Its own one-page presentation describes an agency grant awarded in April 2022, separately from Innovation Fund Denmark support in May 2022, Eurostars and Innowwide. The presentation's aggregate USD 900,000 across grants is not an individual agency award or paid-to-date amount. The specific scheme, contract, allocation and precise payment date remain unpublished; the company link preserves a source-reported grant with unknown structured cash/date. Innovation Fund Denmark and Eureka Network AISBL remain separate verified institutions, and agency administration does not create duplicate presumed payments from their awards. Julie Lungholt became Director in September 2026, with current deputy directors Ane Sofie Hansen and Annemarie Falktoft. The organisation chart effective 1 October 2026 names 21 professionals, and the press directory adds Morten Bakkær Steen, giving 22 published people in scope. The vacant deputy-director box marked NN is excluded. The official logo and three current executive portraits and career biographies were verified from original agency media. For the other 19 named people, the current chart/press directory establishes their function but does not supply an authentic portrait or expanded career biography; these gaps are explicit. Older Hans Müller Pedersen-led charts are historical, and chart observation dates are not appointment dates. The institution is a Company-typed public agency and qualified support provider, rather than an LP venture manager. State appropriations, administered grant budgets, programme targets and research-fund secretariat services are not fund closes, AUM or paid company equity. The chart's Independent Research Fund Denmark function does not collapse that separately governed fund into the agency or prove that all its recipients received agency cash checks.
