Carthera
Carthera is a French clinical-stage medical device company developing ultrasound implants to improve delivery of medicines to the brain. Its SonoCloud device temporarily opens the blood-brain barrier using low-intensity ultrasound, and is being studied in brain cancers including glioblastoma and in neurodegenerative diseases. Founded in 2010 as a spin-off from Sorbonne University and AP-HP, the company develops and manufactures its devices and collaborates with clinical research institutions in Europe and the United States.
