ALS Association
Arlington, Virginia, United States
The ALS Association is the national US nonprofit Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (EIN13-3271855). It funds ALS research and drug-development work, supports people living with ALS and their families through care programmes and clinical-care networks, and advocates for public policy. ALS is a neurodegenerative condition affecting motor neurons; the Association’s relevance is neuroscience research and treatment development rather than a claim that the charity is an artificial-intelligence venture fund. The national legal organization is distinguished from local chapters and other ALS charities. Its grant programmes and research awards are not equity investments or closed private venture funds. Donor contributions, programme commitments, operating reserves and research budgets do not represent LP fund closings. The national leadership directory publishes nine executives and fifteen current trustees; a separately qualified immediate-past-chair affiliation is supported by the 2025 announcement and annual report. Augustine Therapeutics reports a USD300000 award under the 2023 Lawrence and Isabel Barnett Drug Development Program to advance selective HDAC6 inhibitors. Its February27,2024 announcement does not establish an exact payment date. Recipient-specific awards require primary evidence before recording a financial relationship; scientific support, clinical partnerships and advocacy do not automatically establish an investment. Authentic original logo and caption-bound portraits are supplied where verifiable; inaccessible main-site headshots remain explicit source gaps.
