Investment-fund research reviewed 2026-10-06. Publicly identified funds, dates, amounts and fundraising status are below. Undisclosed commitments remain unknown; this is not a complete register of private SPVs or parallel entities.
Fund size, deployment status and stages
| Item | Finding and status | Evidence / date |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Fund I capital commitments | **No verified amount found.** No currency, vintage, target or closing total is established. | Official about and portfolio, and searches for Pace fund closing/amounts; accessed 2026-10-06. |
| Fund I / Fund II status lead | A podcast host's post describing an interview with investor Luka Nićin says Fund I was closed, expected fully deployed by Q3 “this year,” and Fund II fundraising planned later that year. Treat as an unconfirmed interview-summary lead; the accessible page has relative dates and no reliable absolute publication date. It does not prove Fund II has launched or closed. | [Aayaam 360 host post](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/ckommuru_on-international-episode-1-of-the-aayaam-activity-7471162160514109440-rUf7 ), undated accessible rendering, accessed 2026-10-06. |
| Initial check size | **€500,000–€1.5 million**, explicitly an initial investment range, not fund size or company round size. | [Official about](https://paceventures.com/about-us ), undated, search-index readable on 2026-10-06. |
| Published mandate | **Pre-seed and seed**, health-tech and industrial-tech, Europe and US; co-lead or follower. | [Official about](https://paceventures.com/about-us ), undated, accessed 2026-10-06. |
| Historical later stages | FabricNano Series A extension; Bitfount and Neurable Series A; current portfolio labels Aerones Series B. These do not establish a general Series B sourcing mandate. | [Official portfolio](https://www.paceventures.com/portfolio ), undated; company-specific sources below. |
Do not attach the **$3 million African early-stage fund reported in 2020** to this Berlin firm. A same-name fund appears in the [Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Q4 2020 report](https://lsetf.ng/sites/default/files/Q4%202020_Macro-Economic%20Highlights%20Report_v4.pdf ), before this firm's stated establishment and with a different geography. The €25,000 share capital shown for Pace Ventures Enigma GP GmbH in [company-register aggregation](https://www.companyhouse.de/Pace-Ventures-Enigma-GP-GmbH-Berlin ) is GP corporate capital, not a fund closing or AUM. Fund-size searches found these misleading alternatives but no reliably attributable capital total.

Imported completed research. Baseline Adex/Signal statements describe prior state, not independent verification. Retain cited attribution, date, currency and classification caveats.
| **TernaryTx / Ternary Therapeutics** | Physics-informed AI, molecular modeling and wet-lab validation to design molecular-glue therapeutics. | Official company news and co-investor UKI2S name Pace in **€4.1 million (£3.6 million) seed**, led by daphni, with i&i Biotech Fund and UKI2S (managed by Future Planet Capital). This is a newer round than the snapshot's 2025 investment essay. | [Ternary official news](https://www.ternarytx.co.uk/news/ ), March 2026; [UKI2S announcement](https://ukinnovationscienceseedfund.co.uk/ternary-therapeutics-raises-e4-1m-3-6m-seed-round-to-redefine-molecular-glue-drug-discovery-with-ai/ ), 2026-03-16. |
| **Metri Bio** | Biotechnology platform developing endometrial-disease therapeutics from Yale-origin research. Scientific drug development qualifies as biotechnology deep tech, not neural technology. | Company announcement names Pace in **$5 million pre-seed**, led by Pillar VC, alongside Slocum Management and Navec Investments. | [Metri official announcement](https://metri.bio/metri-bio-raises-5m-pre-seed-to-develop-endometriosis-therapeutics/ ), 2025-12-02. |
| **Turnover Labs** | Electrolyzers converting untreated industrial CO₂ waste gases into carbon monoxide chemical feedstock. | Pace's official investment essay expressly attributes investment to the firm; no dated round amount independently established here. Portfolio currently labels seed. | [Pace investment essay](https://paceventures.com/articles/why-we-invested-in-turnover-labs ), undated, accessed 2026-10-06. |
| **Bitfount** | Privacy-preserving federated AI applied to distributed clinical research data. Advanced computing exposure, with a softer deep-tech classification than novel physical technology or therapeutics. | Pace essay states original investment in **Q1 2024** and participation in **$8 million Series A** with Ahren Innovation Capital, Parkwalk, Foresight and existing investor Speedinvest. | [Pace essay](https://paceventures.com/articles/why-we-invested-in-bitfount ), 2025-08-21. |
The official portfolio also names Aerones (wind-turbine robotics, Series B), Virtonomy (digital patient simulations, Series A), CelerisTx (proximity-inducing compounds, **inactive**) and Prenostics (cancer prediction, pre-seed). These are firm-level portfolio attributions; round-specific amounts and dates were not established in this review. Cellbyte (AI agents for drug launches), Clearly (fleet transition software), and Pally (personal assistant) are also listed; do not automatically tag their ordinary software functions as deep tech. The [portfolio](https://www.paceventures.com/portfolio ) is undated, search-index readable, accessed 2026-10-06.
## Previous neurotech investments and adjacent neuroscience
**Neurable — verified direct neurotechnology.** AI-enabled, noninvasive brain-computer interfaces and patented neural-signal processing embedded in everyday devices/headphones qualify directly, rather than as generic wellness software.
- **2024-05-07: $13 million additional financing**, company release explicitly names Ultratech Capital Partners, TRAC, **Pace Ventures** and Metaplanet. It reports more than $30 million raised cumulatively, which is company lifetime capital, not Pace AUM. The release does **not** label this financing Series A or identify a lead. [Neurable company Business Wire release](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240507057095/en/Neurable-Inc.-Raises-%2413M-Paving-the-Way-for-Brain-Computer-Interface-Technology-in-Everyday-Products ), 2024-05-07.
- **2025-12-19: $35 million Series A**, led by Spectrum Moonshot Fund, bringing company total financing to $65 million. The release quotes Marius Swart, Managing Partner at Pace, in an existing-investor-support paragraph. This confirms continuing firm backing but does **not separately disclose Pace's new cash contribution or allocation**. Adex already records Pace as a participant; attach this qualification when reviewing that entry. [Neurable company Business Wire release](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20251219993709/en/Neurable-Raises-%2435-Million-Series-A-to-Accelerate-Deployment-of-Everyday-Brain-Computer-Interface-Technology ), 2025-12-19.
**Holobiome — neuroscience-adjacent biotechnology, not a BCI investment.** Pace's official essay expressly announces investment, describes microbiota–gut–brain research, bacterial strain libraries and therapeutic/probiotic development targeting mental health, neurological conditions and pain. Other named investors include iSelect, Corundum Systems Biology, Satori Neuro, SkyRiver, Valor and Astanor. Amount, closing date and round label are not established; official portfolio labels seed. [Pace Holobiome essay](https://paceventures.com/articles/why-we-invested-in-holobiome ), undated, indexed official text accessed 2026-10-06. This firm-level investment is absent from the snapshot's investment list and merits review.
**TernaryTx — adjacent neuroinflammation drug discovery.** UKI2S says the platform could treat inflammatory and neuroinflammatory conditions. This is therapeutic discovery, not evidence of neural sensing, stimulation or interfaces. Keep separate from Neurable's direct neurotechnology classification. Source: [UKI2S](https://ukinnovationscienceseedfund.co.uk/ternary-therapeutics-raises-e4-1m-3-6m-seed-round-to-redefine-molecular-glue-drug-discovery-with-ai/ ), 2026-03-16.
## Conflicts, gaps and later Adex review
1. **Capital size:** retain unknown fund size/AUM. Seek Fund I close documents and dated Fund II announcements; podcast-host summary is insufficient for a final fund-status field.
2. **Team cleanup:** snapshot duplicates Marius Swart GP roles and includes an Associate role for the same person. Indexed official about page lists Swart as GP, Luka Nićin and Gabriel Méhaignerie as associates; the Neurable release uses Managing Partner for Swart. Review duplicates and title context, rather than inventing an associate history.
3. **Stages:** maintain stated pre-seed/seed mandate, annotate documented Series A follow-ons and portfolio Series B separately. Third-party round-size tables are not check-size data.
4. **New transactions:** Ternary's March 2026 seed is strongly verified and newer than the snapshot. Photara's [official LinkedIn company page](https://www.linkedin.com/company/photara-inc ) also reports an **$8.5 million seed extension**, led by 2150 with existing investors including Pace. The accessible post has only a relative date (“2mo”), so exact date remains unverified; do not silently overwrite the dated 2025 $8 million round.
5. **Attribution:** FabricNano essay distinguishes Swart first meeting its founder at former employer Henkel dx Ventures from Pace actually investing. That former-employer relationship is not a Henkel investment and is not a separate Pace transaction. No prior-employer investments were imported.
6. **Amounts/dates:** FabricNano's $10.1 million/date in the saved record derive from aggregation, while official essay states $10 million extension with no readable date. Creasallis and Turnover dates/amounts remain incomplete; essay date is not necessarily transaction date.
7. **Source reliability:** [Startup Intros](https://startupintros.com/orgs/pace-ventures ), accessed 2026-10-06, anomalously reports Ternary's March 2026 seed as $473 million. Prefer official €4.1 million/£3.6 million evidence; do not reuse that aggregate. Official portfolio stages show current company stages rather than necessarily Pace's entry stage.
8. **Coverage limit:** substantive public-evidence review, not a complete transaction ledger. Current official portfolio advertises 21 companies and includes stealth/inactive entries; undisclosed investments and precise allocations remain unavailable. The self-contained evidence above establishes relevant named deep-tech and direct/adjacent neurotechnology exposure without claiming complete portfolio enumeration.

Pace is a Berlin venture investor in health and industrial technology, with a published pre-seed/seed mandate and historical participation at Series A and beyond. Direct neurotechnology exposure is verified through **Neurable**. Its portfolio also contains scientific biotechnology, materials discovery, nuclear technology, solar manufacturing and engineered hydrogen. Public fund capital commitments remain undisclosed in the sources checked.
## Starting evidence and access limits
The exact-ID Adex MCP snapshot `_sources/PaceVentures.adex.json`, retrieved 2026-10-06, describes a firm established in 2022 investing in Europe and the US, generally €500,000–€1.5 million initially as co-lead or follower. It records Creasallis, Project Omega, Neurable (two rounds), Metri Bio, Cellbyte, Photara, ChemFinity, Bitfount, TernaryTx, Vema Hydrogen and FabricNano. Its investorProfile numeric fields are null, although the description provides a check range. These existing records are leads, not independent verification.
[NFX Signal](https://signal.nfx.com/firms/pace-ventures ) was directly read: only the firm name, team heading and navigation were visible. No named team, fund size, check size or stage data were readable. Signal therefore confirms a matching profile URL but adds no independently usable strategy evidence.
Direct opens of the official website and portfolio returned an empty application shell; the non-www about URL initially failed after redirect. Official about, portfolio and investment essays were substantially readable through the search index. Official claims below identify that access limitation. Investee press releases, a transaction law firm's notice and co-investor announcements provide additional attribution.
## Fund size, deployment status and stages
## Verified previous deep-tech investments
Amounts below are **company financing totals**, never Pace's own commitment. Technology classifications are research judgments from the described technology; investment attribution is separately stated.

| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Project Omega** | Nuclear spent-fuel reprocessing and radiovoltaic batteries; substantial chemistry, nuclear engineering and regulatory work. | Pace explicitly says it joined the **$12 million seed** led by Starship Ventures, alongside Mantis, Decisive Point, Slow and Buckley. | **Dunia Innovations** | AI coupled with chemical robotics and a self-driving experimental laboratory to discover electrocatalysts. | Official co-investor announcement names Pace in **$11.5 million financing** led by Elaia and redalpine. The notice does not specify round stage; official Pace portfolio labels the company seed. | [Elaia-hosted announcement PDF](https://www.elaia.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PR-Dunia.pdf ), 2024-10-23; [Pace essay](https://paceventures.com/articles/why-we-invested-in-dunia ), undated. |
| **FabricNano** | Cell-free biomanufacturing, enzyme engineering and immobilization for sustainable industrial chemicals. | Pace explicitly announces participation in **$10 million Series A extension**. | **Creasallis** | Engineered antibody hinges cleaved by tumor-associated proteases, aiming to improve solid-tumor penetration without compromising circulating half-life. | Pace explicitly announces investment and mentions existing Kdt, Blueyard and Dolby Family Ventures backers. **Amount unknown**; portfolio labels seed. Essay date alone does not establish closing date. | [Pace essay](https://paceventures.com/articles/why-we-invested-in-creasallis ), displayed 09/07/2026, interpreted 2026-07-09 using European date format; [official portfolio](https://www.paceventures.com/portfolio ), undated. | SHOW MORE
