Investment-fund research reviewed 2026-10-06. Publicly identified funds, dates, amounts and fundraising status are below. Undisclosed commitments remain unknown; this is not a complete register of private SPVs or parallel entities.
Fund size and investment stages
| Vehicle / measure | Amount and date | Evidence and interpretation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Laude Ventures Fund I, debut fund | **USD 150 million**, announced **2024-12-10** | [Firm announcement](https://laude.vc/news/from-breakthrough-research-to-breakout-companies ) names Fund I and its size. [Forbes, 2024-12-10](https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexkonrad/2024/12/10/laude-ventures-databricks-perplexity-new-fund/ ) explicitly says the first fund closed at $150 million. This is a closed fund, not merely a target. |
| Laude Institute research financing | **USD 100 million pledge**, separate organization | [Institute's official about page](https://www.laude.org/about ), undated, identifies individual-technologist funding anchored by Andy Konwinski's pledge. Do not add it to venture Fund I or treat it as deployable venture capital/AUM. |
| Check sizes / firm-wide AUM | Not verified | No published standard check range or current aggregate AUM established in the sources checked. |
Fund I is latest-known, rather than guaranteed latest: the current official news page and searches for a newer fund / Fund II produced no verified subsequent close. [Official news](https://laude.vc/news ), undated, accessed 2026-10-06.
Current official positioning is inception capital: backing technical insights as they become companies, including founders from research, frontier labs and engineering teams. Forbes' launch reporting specifies **pre-seed and seed**. That report also identifies a Laude investment in Perplexity's January 2024 financing, showing historical participation can extend beyond the headline early-stage mandate. Subsequent Arena Series A participation is independently reported below. Do not infer a general growth-stage mandate from those transactions. [Official about](https://laude.vc/about ), [Forbes, 2024-12-10](https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexkonrad/2024/12/10/laude-ventures-databricks-perplexity-new-fund/ ).

Imported completed research. Baseline Adex/Signal statements describe prior state, not independent verification. Retain cited attribution, date, currency and classification caveats.
Other snapshot portfolio names are Arcade, Clairvoyant Intelligence, Disarray, Intelligible, Invocate, Mithril, Narada, Normal, Prompt AI, SigIQ, Sooth Labs, Tabsdata and Terrace Networks. The [official portfolio index](https://laude.vc/portfolio ), accessed 2026-10-06, confirms these names and four unnamed stealth companies; generic AI/infra labels alone do not establish strict deep-tech qualifications. They should not be counted automatically. Forbes also reported **Foundry**, a GPU cloud provider, among Laude's investments in December 2024, but it is absent from the current index; attribution and later status remain a review lead rather than a current-portfolio assertion.
## Neurotech evidence and exclusions
**No verified neurotech investment found in the sources checked.** The official portfolio, company/firm announcements above, and searches combining Laude with neurotech, brain and neural investment terms yielded no confirmed BCI, neural sensing, neural stimulation or direct nervous-system technology investee. This is a bounded public-source finding, not a statement that the firm has never made such investments.
Voio is **adjacent medical imaging**, not established direct neurotechnology: its platform covers general radiology and CT/MRI modalities. Brain-image interpretation does not itself establish a neural interface or neuroscience-specific company. Artificial neural networks at Arena, Inferact or other AI companies likewise do not constitute neurotech. Four stealth companies prevent full public portfolio classification.
## Conflicts, gaps and concrete Adex review notes
1. Review the **duplicate LMArena USD 150 million records**: independent company/team and reporting evidence supports **Series A on 2026-01-06**, not Series C. The January 2026 and May 2025 financings are separate rounds, whereas Arena and LMArena refer to the same evaluation business in the firm's article. Confirm entity identity before merging the snapshot's `Arena` and `LMArena` entries; preserve the original exact firm ID.
2. Add Fund I's **USD 150 million closed size and 2024-12-10 announcement** as a sourced candidate; keep the Institute's $100 million personal pledge separate. Do not fill AUM or check-size fields from either amount.
3. Review founder timing: the firm's public launch is 2024, but predecessor CSGV is older. Do not date the venture firm's founding solely from an LP legal vehicle or a predecessor investment.
4. Distinguish **Fund I from CSGV** per official company detail pages. Eventual is explicitly CSGV; Perplexity is both. Databricks/VMware/Anyscale references in partner biographies concern founding/operating roles or investments made earlier, including at NEA, and are not automatic Laude investments.
5. Candidate sourced round additions/updates: Tensormesh's $4.5 million seed and $20 million May 2026 financing; Voio's $8.6 million November 2025 seed; Inferact's January 2026 funding. Individual Laude check amounts remain undisclosed.
6. Foundry's 2024 reported investment versus its absence from the current official index is unresolved. The current portfolio list also includes legacy-fund holdings, so index presence alone cannot establish a Fund I transaction date or stage.
7. No verified NFX profile, current AUM, standard checks, newer fund close or direct neurotech holding established. Avoid treating unsuccessful Signal access or undisclosed stealth holdings as negative investment evidence.
## Source handling
All linked web sources were checked on **2026-10-06**; undated official pages carry that access date. Dated announcement/reporting sources are identified inline. Signal searches and failed candidate-page requests yielded no usable firm profile. The Adex snapshot was consulted locally and its claims were rechecked against the linked evidence; neither Adex, Goldi-derived fields nor aggregators were accepted as standalone confirmation. Company release republication is primary issuer testimony, while Forbes and SiliconANGLE provide independent reporting. This file is research for later review only. SHOW MORE

# Laude Ventures — research for Adex review
- Exact ID: `GoldiLaudeVentures`; canonical Adex URL: https://adex.page/firms/GoldiLaudeVentures
- Research date / web-source access date: **2026-10-06**.
- Status: **complete research pass**, with explicit public-source limitations below. No Adex or database changes made.
Laude Ventures is an inception-stage venture firm launched publicly in 2024, led by Andy Konwinski, Pete Sonsini and Andrew Krioukov. Its strongest demonstrated deep-tech exposure is research-derived computing: inference systems, AI evaluation and medical vision models. The latest-known announced venture fund found is **USD 150 million Fund I**, publicly announced in December 2024. No verified neurotech investment found in the sources checked. [Official identity/history](https://laude.vc/about ), [official team](https://laude.vc/team ), [Fund I announcement, 2024-12-10](https://laude.vc/news/from-breakthrough-research-to-breakout-companies ).
## Starting evidence: Adex and NFX Signal
The exact-ID snapshot, `data/research/_sources/GoldiLaudeVentures.adex.json`, was retrieved 2026-10-06 from read-only Adex MCP Search. It describes an inception-stage firm launched in 2024, provides the official laude.vc domain, and lists eight team roles. Check minimum, maximum and sweet spot are null; no fund size or NFX Signal URL is supplied. Its investment records contain 25 entries: two LMArena round participations, 19 named portfolio entries, and four stealth placeholders. The two LMArena participations both describe USD 150 million funding in 2026 but disagree on Series C versus Series A. This snapshot is a starting claim inventory, not independent verification.
NFX Signal was checked before official verification: https://signal.nfx.com/ opened successfully, but site-restricted searches for Laude, Pete Sonsini, Andy Konwinski and Andrew Krioukov returned no matching profile. Candidate URLs https://signal.nfx.com/investors/pete-sonsini and https://signal.nfx.com/investors/andy-konwinski failed to fetch; these were attempted guesses, not confirmed profile URLs. No firm-specific Signal stage, check-size, portfolio or fund claim could be read or verified. Absence of a search result is not evidence that no profile exists.

## Named previous deep-tech investments
Deep-tech classification here is an analytical assessment of research-derived technology, not a claim that every AI or software investment qualifies. Round amounts are company financing totals, **not Laude's individual contribution**.
| Company | Technical rationale and attribution | Supported round / date and sources |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Tensormesh** | Commercialization of research on distributed KV caching / LMCache to reduce repeated LLM inference computation. Strong computing deep-tech example; Laude expressly calls itself the seed lead. | **USD 4.5 million seed**, disclosed by Laude **2025-10-23**; [firm investment announcement](https://laude.vc/news/tensormesh-cutting-cost-ai-inference-10x ). Company subsequently announced **USD 20 million new funding on 2026-05-27**, including Laude, taking total funding to $24.5 million. [Official company announcement](https://www.tensormesh.ai/blog-posts/tensormesh-raises-20m-launches-inference-platform ). The latter source does not specify a stage; do not import aggregator Seed labels. |
| **Inferact** | Created by vLLM developers to improve inference performance across models and hardware; research-derived systems engineering. Official Laude page identifies **Fund I / Seed**, directly distinguishing it from CSGV legacy investments. | Company says **USD 150 million raised as of January 2026**, at an $800 million valuation, led by a16z and Lightspeed with Laude participating. Exact announcement day not established here. [Official company site](https://inferact.ai/ ), undated/current page; [Laude portfolio detail](https://laude.vc/portfolio/inferact ), undated. |
| **Arena / LMArena** | Berkeley-origin research on reproducible, human-preference evaluation of frontier models, commercialized as evaluation infrastructure. A software/research deep-tech case, not hardware or biological neural technology. | **USD 100 million seed**, Laude participant, disclosed **2025-05-21** in [Laude's investment announcement](https://laude.vc/news/lmarena-turning-research-driven-evaluation-into-ai-infrastructure ). **USD 150 million Series A** announced **2026-01-06**, Laude participant: [company/team announcement on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sarahniyogi_big-news-today-lmarena-announced-our-series-activity-7414354949427539968-7UDO ), [SiliconANGLE, 2026-01-06](https://siliconangle.com/2026/01/06/ai-evaluation-startup-lmarena-raises-150m-1-7b-valuation/ ). |
| **Voio / VOIO** | Frontier vision-language models for CT/MRI interpretation and radiology reporting; a defensible medical-AI research investment. Firm explicitly confirms backing its researcher-led team. | **USD 8.6 million seed** announced **2025-11-20**, from Laude and The House Fund. [Company press release distributed by Business Wire, republished by StreetInsider](https://www.streetinsider.com/Business%2BWire/Voio%2BEmerges%2BFrom%2BStealth%2Bto%2BBuild%2BFrontier%2BAI%2Bfor%2BHealthcare/25642228.html ); [official Laude article, 2025-11-20](https://laude.vc/news/voio-building-frontier-ai-for-healthcare ). Lead status not asserted from these primary announcements. Model performance assertions are issuer claims, not independently validated clinical outcomes. |
| **Eventual** | Distributed data processing for camera/sensor training data used by robotics and autonomy teams; relevant research-derived computing infrastructure. | [Official portfolio detail](https://laude.vc/portfolio/eventual ), undated, names **CSGV**, with inception entry. This is a **predecessor-fund investment**, not independently demonstrated Fund I participation. No round amount/date established here. |
| **Perplexity** | AI information retrieval / answer technology; applied AI relevance, with stronger core-system evidence needed for a strict deep-tech classification. Both predecessor and current-fund attribution are supported. | [Official portfolio detail](https://laude.vc/portfolio/perplexity ), undated, lists **CSGV and Fund I**, with entry labelled Seed. Forbes describes a Laude check in the **January 2024** financing. Keep fund-specific dates and stage distinctions; do not assign all prior partner or CSGV rounds to Laude Fund I. | SHOW MORE
