Scipher Medicine
Scipher Medicine is a Waltham, Massachusetts precision immunology company founded in 2013 by network-medicine researchers Joseph Loscalzo and Albert-László Barabási. It combines molecular patient data, protein-interaction networks and AI to predict treatment response and support biomarker and therapeutic discovery for autoimmune diseases. Its products include the PrismRA blood test for rheumatoid arthritis and its Spectra platform for network-based analysis. Reginald Seeto is president and CEO; the public leadership directory also names Ryan Phan as COO, Courtney Morris as chief business officer and Dina Ghiassian as senior vice president for network medicine and data science. Verified financing milestones include a Khosla-led Series A announced in September 2018, a Northpond-led Series B announced in December 2019, USD82 million Series C financing in March 2021 and USD110 million Series D financing in February 2022. The 2018 announcement reported USD10 million cumulative funding rather than the exact Series A size. The company reported USD227 million raised to date after its 2022 financing. Later SEC disclosures report USD9.6 million cash from 2024 convertible notes funded through January 2025, USD16.7 million cash from 2025 notes, and USD10 million new cash from 2026 notes funded through August 2026. Torsten Hombeck has been interim CFO since March 2026. In July 2026 Scipher signed a proposed merger with Chemomab Therapeutics; completion and a concurrent USD30–50 million PIPE remain subject to closing conditions. The USD10 million already received in 2026 counts toward that proposed PIPE commitment.
